It'd make more sense if someone was given the AKSU. That thing is awesome, and still quite common (moreso than the Skorpion given to Militia crew kit I'd think)

How common is the folding stock variety of the AK?

the AKMS is quite common, also being not as common as the normal ak-47, but i think it would be a really nice adition for some kits

The problem with the Vanilla AK is that the Forend is wrong, it just doesnt look like a real AKM In My opinion. All of the other models in PR did a great job actually depicting what the firearm looks like. The AK-47/AKM is such a well known firearm with such a long service record that it deserves to be portrayed in all of its glory, just like the M-16/AR platform rifles.

The one in IDF looks the most realistic out of all of the models I'v seen so far for BF2 mods.
The animations are excellent as well as the sound effects. I'm sure the devs would want to simmer down the muzzel flash though.

i'm not sure what you refere to, but maybe it is caused by the fact that the AK is aktually a Type56, a chinise ak copy

No the handguards do not look like that on the type 56 either, they are essentaly the same just like Norc SKS's are the same as Russian SKS, just a different bayonet and depending sometimes extra grip in the middle of the handguard for the AKM.
Anyway Its like all of the AK's in game have been tampered with and their handguard that covers the gas system and barrel were put in a lathe and rounded off they should just be flat and be joining each other in the middle. It was probably just shabby modeling by someone who doesnt know what they look like when your holding them.

It is hard to explain because I cannot find a picture of the vanilla AK on screen. Trust me however it is wrong and in my opinion looks stupid.

I don't know how hard it would be to use this other one, all I do know is that it would do the rifle justice and it fits right in with PR's level of quality and standards.

Dylans looks pretty good, I'll just repost his web address:https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f66-co ... -47-a.html
His forestocks are pretty much correct. I think his would be too much work though however and we would be much better off going with the one already ingame for IDF. Everything is already done on that model.

Image Same thickness on the upper and lower handguard, not rounded off.
Image Ditto

The only major issue with any of the ironsighted Russian weapons ingame is the bloody ironsight - the sooner that is fixed the happier I'll be

I did see that in the community AK74 project
gave me happy feelings, with the AK so prevalent in PR at the moment, correcting the DICE ironsight should be a semi-high priority

Deflection has no problem with PR using this, but I'd definitly like to see the AK sight from FIST(not sure what that is but I like the sight)

I agree that sight is win. However in the meantime, I guess this can be a filler. Unless someone knows how to move the front post furthur away from the camera.

If the Devs are seriously considering this, that would be excellent!.

Every firearm that looks awesome brings PR just that much closer to "Totaly kickass status".

For whoever wasent sure what I was trying to explain before about the forend stocks, look at that picture in the link above and then at the AK in game, you will see what I mean.
They are different and it pisses me off because of the shabby attention to detail from the nilla devs.

Out of curiosity, what makes this so much more awesome than the current in-game AK-47 (despite model issues with the AK not being an actual AK or even a type 56)? What makes people go "Folding stock? OMG LEET!"? Seems like that weapon would be a PAIN to use in game; takes ages to ready it.
