My headset sounds great, but maybe it could be better... like people are saying thiers have 5.1???
I think logitech premium stereo headset is ****. I've had two of them, first got broken for some reason (sound was messed up) i got new ones at shop and they were broken already. And my ears got hurt after 1 hour of playing. So i bought Creative Fatal1ty headset(30$) and they r much comfortable to use and better sound quality.

Wow, ehm thats... simple?
sounds neat and you're right its not the game audio feedback thats annoying its hearing your own voice, I strangly enough sound like an 18 year old teenager with a swedish accent, weird huh? ooh how I hate english with a swedish accent...
Moral of the story: Buy a headset or use rhinos "simple" solution so that I dont get reminded about how geeky my voice is.

Fella's,
Just wanted to say thanks a hell of a lot. Great response (better than i had anticipated) and ive made my decision.
Think im going to stay clear of both my original ideas (typical irishman haha) based on what you guys have told me and more user reviews that ive read online.
Didnt like the Medusa for its reliability issues and the Logitech one looks like it could be a bit on the uncomfortable side.
It came down to two - the Sennheiser 151/161 and the Creative Fatal1ty headset. Was a hard choice but gonna go for the Creative one. It looks the shizznit and its gotten good reviews...
(Im telling all of you this like your all on the edge of your seats or something...)
Thanks again tho...

PS Rhino - I can see now why your a dev with your speaker setup the way it is

This is what I use and I wouldn't use anything else... had them for a couple of years now and they are still like brand new.
Crystal clear stereo sound and so much more! The E-D Audio FX headset is a high quality full-ear unit with a microphone certified for superior voice recognition and noise cancellation. That's just the beginning. Bass-boosting force feedback built right into the headset gives you the complete immersive experience.
Increased situational awareness with directional sound.
The Audio FX reproduces sound effects to give a sense of three-dimensional space, actually improving your game play! Literally feel your enemy's footsteps approaching and intensifying or the rumble of engines and explosions with powerful amplified bass vibrations. A special feature of the AudioFX utilizes positional audio, meaning explosions to your right will feel amplified to your right side compared to your left side. Situational awareness is dramatically improved.

probably to late for my opinion but here it is. I've found the sound quality of head sets are rubbish compared to a decent set of headphones, id go for a pair of headphones and a separate logitech usb microphone.

I've tryed Medusa 5.1, Logitek, even tryed the new model from Razer, (forget me if I already forgot the name of the model...) and I cam back to Zalman 5.1
The nice thing about them is that first its a very good sound quality for the price, second is quoite tough, third its mic is very good quality and is detachable, so you can adapt it on regular headphones when you old one pass out.
