I don't mind seeing the landmine removed either. Simple fact is the deployment of landmines during a firefight just seems unlikely. A squad will usually capture a flag, and in the course of a minute or two have a wall of mines sitting in the front gate. But what I don't like seeing is when players run up behind a vehicle, place a mine and land an armored kill 20 seconds later, the tactic itself is a bit gamey.
What I'd rather see is the ability to deploy mines like a CO asset. Where mines have to be deployed within 100 meters of a nearby firebase or bunker.

I think they should just have to have a supply truck, mines are often deployed far from friendly positions in order to block enemy routes of advance and such. Only being able to deploy them within 100 meters of a FB/Bunker means they're almost entirely limited to defensive uses.

can't be too hard can it? place the minesweeper over a selected area and hear a place ? and then use a spade to show it and a wrench to disarm it?
then maybe give engineers 2 mines to make them more effective.
