Meh, it was more the lack of explanation. i know people think of it as a catcher, like advertising. You know: thread title is "I cant believe that"

And then people are all like "ZOMG cant believe that WHAT!?!?" so they go to your thread...

BUT, its just more considerate to actually say the content of the thread. That way, you'll get more people who actually care about your topic, instead of just interested people who want to know what the thread is about ;)

I find irons good for suppresion fire if you have it on all or 3 bullets, its far more easy to control it on rapid than optics

Comparing the two kits. There has got to be more to it than simply the gun. The gun is a mute point. Iron Sight over Optical Sight and vice versa is not a debate in this situation as it's incredibly obvious from multiple polls that more people prefer the Optical over the Iron in most situations. Not all but most.

Given that both classes are the same and the only difference is Iron Sight versus Optical Sight then one has to wonder what else is different? What makes each class special outside the gun type? Does the Iron Sight Rifleman get more grenades than the Optical Sight Rifleman? I think so, 4 versus 2. But that's about it.

I say give the Iron Sight Rifleman something else, something a little extra to make that kit desirable again overall. Something like a shotgun like the new Engy has. Something for up and personal CQ action.

The lack of optics are supposed to make the iron sights rifleman better at CQC, so a shotty would be a bit off.

I had such a great trench-gunfight yesterday on Kashan's N-V outskirt! Would have been impossible without the reduced range and accuracy of grenades and the more user-friendly recoil of the ironsighted G3.

Both kits have their use for different scenarios, I prefer the iron-sighted however. If there's any changes to be made, it should be a slight increase to the ironsighted rifleman's ammo haul or extra field dressings (or even more armor for them and lesser run distance, promoting cqc).

I prefer ironsights in alot of circumstances. yea we could maybe improve them a bit more to make them really good at cqb... but they are already better at cqb than scopes...

I think we should mainly make it so that "hip" shooting (not looking into the ironsights/scopes) is not as effective in CQB, that would increase the ironsight effectiveness 10 fold.

But anyways, guess what most modern militaries have on their rifles these days? So I dont think its a big deal that most players prefer the scoped rifleman. The ones who use the ironsight rifleman now, actually enjoy the kit and know how to use it :P

I think that adding the ammo bag to the optics rifleman ruined the separation between the 2 classes. If I remeber correctly, the developers announced in 0.7 that now there will be two sides of the rifleman, the precise one (scoped) and the soldier-cqb one. For the most they were 2 different classes, besides of the ones who can aim that good with the irons like with the scope.
So I personnaly think that the optics rifleman should recieve another useful feature but definately not the ammo bag.

also I can only fully agree to this:
The likelihood of me taking the non-optic rifleman has dropped to 0. If I'm going to lose my optics, I'd rather lose my grenades too and go medic. Maybe it's just me, but seems like any real reward for losing the optics is gone now. BloodBane611

Also why adding trip flares to marksman, making him somekind similar to the sniper class (making him a lone wolf instead of a part of the squad) but instead some signal rocket for extraction-needs? Or something more realistic and useful than trip flares.

Why does having the trip flare make the marksman a lone wolf? What if the squad hides in a "house of pain" and the SL orders their marksmam to set a trip wire at the door? Although I see no real use for that either. Let him have the same equaipment as the support gunner and that's it. (The SL has signal smoke grenades btw.)
