Re: Sniper Bug??

I started playing sniper a few days ago here what i fiend to be true you need to wait 3 sec if your target is 100m add 1 sec per 50m so if there 300m away wait 9 secs aim fire good shot.
'[R-CON wrote:OkitaMakoto;681308']Its not that I cant ever hit anything, this isnt a thread for simply saying one can and one cant. Im not interested in saying what I can and cannot do compared to some leet snipers out there.Im simply saying, as others have, that the snipers are way too annoying to use. If you cant track a target in PR without greatly reducing your accuracy then there is something wrong
I could post pictures of me hitting things with the sniper too, that doesnt take away from the fact that they are not working as good as I think they should.

So yes, anyway I suppose tracking targets can be difficult, infact I tend not to track mine but (yes get ready for it) instead put my crossair infront of the enemy (I only ever do this if the enemy is either very close or moving towards me) then wait for them to trod across the crossair and pull the trigger
. So maybe the tracking side of things might need a little looking into...BUT DONT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE!!1 I mean the snipers

Nah, was just joking around'[R-CON wrote:OkitaMakoto;681418']I guess that might have come across as assholish, heh, I meant it as in there are people much better at sniping than I am

Yesterday on Al Basrah I plundered a sniper kit from a dead Brit, got on top of a building, encountered an enemy about 100 meters away on the ground below, fired about 4 clips at him adjusting up down left right trying to get the damn round to hit him, MISSED every shot, the guy then climbs up the ladder onto the roof and executes me while I unload my remaining rounds into his face at 10 feet away. Sniper rifles are RIDICULOUS. I now know never to even bother coveting them again.[R-CON]OkitaMakoto wrote:I still actually believe the sniper is a useless kit. Why would anyone take the sniper over the marksman kit in PR is beyond me. I dont claim to be an expert marksman with the sniper, but when im prone and aiming still for 3 seconds, fire at their face at relatively close range and I miss... thats just wrong.
Rifles in game are not properly zeroed. The bullet will hit where you aim untill 600 meters. After that you need to aim higher.ArmedDrunk&Angry wrote:and..........if you are shooting at a target that is 50m away, the scope isn't ranged for that so the bullet won't go where the crosshairs are.
I suck at sniper too but I will use the kit when I take it from someone's cold dead hands and patience is everything.
There's the problem.Thermis wrote:This might just be me, but with the new .75 it seems that the snipers are bugged. I can seem to hit anything. This is sitting on top of roofs and or the ground not moving anything but the scope. I have only used the M40 on Kashan and the Brit sniper on Basra. Both seem to have accuracy issues.

It's unrealistically hard IMO. I don't know if this is intended or just a combination of the deviation problem/crazy zeroing scheme but regardless. Not to mention you can't even see where your bullet hits at further ranges making it impossible to know how to adjust your aim. Is this supposed to be only for the leet or something? I almost think PR would be better with just a straight up "conefire" system like other games where each stance standing/crouching/prone make the "cone" tighten (more accurate) but this whole move/pivot an inch wait 3 seconds then don't move or else your bullet will hit nowhere near where your gun is pointed is just maddening.para_hjs wrote:
It takes lots of effort to be a "good" sniper in PR.
