If you resize the video to 1280x720 then vimeo will host in that res without downgrading it like youtube do.
Virtual dub will do this, anyone know another program which would allow easy resizing to this res? MS movie maker wont

Thanks. I usually use VirtualDub to resize, cut, re-compress, etc.

I had massive problems with Windows Movie Maker crashing and then not wanting to render the movie to anything but DV-NTSC 720x576 (and ended up with a 1Gb file!). I resized and recompressed it to both WMV, MOV and AVI (720x408 to get the right aspect ratio) for upload and I can try upload one of those to Vimeo.

I don't think blowing it up to 1280x720 will do me any good as the source is no better than 720x408.
