How about giving insurgents minor mines in form of soda cans? I know its one of the biggest threats in real insurgency

I think its ok right now, maby 2 svd(dragunov) kit´s thats all no mosin nagant. This map plays in Afganistan so probably against taliban, they use mostly IED´s and rpg´s.

The "best"(most deathly) tactic, that taliban use is IED and suicide bomber, so i would remove scout(grapling hook for taliban?) and war-veteran and add civilians and suicide bombers, so they both look like the same, but suicide bomber got only a bomb jacket with a trigger and it should be powerful like 1 IED or c4 and the nato forces(or USMC atm) dont loose tickets if they kill the suicide bombers ,(maby earn some tickets?) they do loose tickets if they kill civilians of course.

Mortars : insurgency use mortars in iraq and afganistan, so it would be more realistic if DEV´s add it, but they should be VERY inaccurate(like in real) and have damage like a granade(forgotten hope got it..so its possible),stationary of course AND it should explode if its getting too hot(like machine gun)with shells. Mortars can be used only with Commander(so it make the ins commander usefull) and no UAV map, no zoom ,just old map with coordinates like c5 or b7. Commander dont have Ak with grenade launcher, just a simple pistol bandages and if nato forces kill the ins commander they should earn 5 tickets and insurgency should loose 20-40 tickets. Commander should look like this http://blogs.abcnews.com/photos/uncateg ... h_mn_2.jpg so nato forces can easily recognize him.

I know this is possible :) ... lot of work but it guarantee long time motivation for the players(not the addict :P )

Personally I reckon it'd be much better if the Insurgents were split at some point, perhaps to the extent of having proper factions; Taliban, al Qaeda, Hamas etc. It'd make for more interesting maps if there were some differences relating to how well armed and how each faction conducted itself tactically. So you could have more home guard style insurgents on some maps very lightly armed with lots of tickets and civilians helping and such, then some more well armed and trained forces that are better equipped with fixed emplacements and flags to defend and stuff. I can see that kinda thing being in the pipeline but it'd probably take alot of work, so I'm gonna shut up about it.

Anyway most of these complaints derive from people not playing with proper tactics. The AK for example is devastating up close and can be used to great effect. As EG said squad up! Actually using squads and communication on these maps you can create some very nasty ambushes.

no way should more sniper rifles be added to any map. especially for a poor army like the insurgents. if you want sniper wars go back to vanilla. that being said i do think a FEW sniper rifles is perfect, kinda like the way it is right now. and if there are no sniper rifles in archer i think they should put like 2 in that would help the insurgents out alot without being unrealistic.

I miss the civs on Archer! The US already has a big advantage with their firepower. It seems better to me if the US have to come closer to check the insurgs out if they are armed or not. Instead of staying at a safe distance and scope everything down they see. Unfortunately a lot of players act like this then go well-grouped after the caches.

I agree that some maps should have more armed insurgents than others. You wouldnt have to rename the faction but only give certain insurgency maps more weapons according to the location and history behind the map.

Insurgents don't have money for Scopes like ACOG and stuff....

As if insurgents buy weapons? The taliban got them for free from the Americans to fight Russia at that time...

I played Archer for the first time last night, and i gotta say just using IED's and drawing the enemy out worked pretty well. Just use your head out there boys.
