In the tweaker bar, open the 'default' section, click on the box next to 'map materials'. It'll show you what each colour corresponds to, and will let you edit which material is used for each.

DICE decide to only give there tanks a veritable damage system, APCs etc do not even thou they should.

So as the Warrior was a DEV Creation it has diffrent types of armour? A veritable damage system?

Is the column on the left the material, or the column on the right?
It lists three diffrent types of armour in the left column, yet only the armor_2_light_armored_vehicles on the right.

the left side is 1/2 the exported named the material in max. I normally call my mats in Max something simple like "MudWall" then when I finally import it and need to setup its materials in the editor, what you see is your "MudWall" material on the left (which you defined in max) and then on the right is the selection box that you want that material to use ingame from BF2's materials.

so my mats look something like: "MudWall | Penetrable_PlasterWall" since thats the closet may we have for what I want.

All that matters in your case is the name on the right, the name on the left is just to help the initial setup of materials.

hehe, well DICE Canada made the xpack (and the patches), DICE Sweden made BF2. Hence why so many of the patches broke more stuff than they fixed cos DICE Candada where trying to fix a game they didn't make, while DICE Sweden was making BF2142.

The BMP3 is kinda more of a tank than a APC thou, its kinda 1/2 way in between the 2 :p

Ok.. so its probably possible that you can work around the single armour value for APC's and impliment a "veritable damage system" if you so desired, once you got everything else off of your plate that is.. ;)

Thanks for all the info.. I learned alot!

Its possible but would require us to rework the collision meshes, which we may or may not do at some point which would take quite abit of work, requires remaking the col meshes from scratch etc.
