the G3SG1 is for the MEC, who do not use the AK47 series of weapons, they use the G3 series, and this comes into the G3 series of weapons...

The Insurgents and Militia will still get the SVD...

Epic win! Hope this frees up SVDs for the Insurgents. ;)

Are the iron sights there because they haven't been removed yet?

Doenst the real G3SG1 still have ironsights too? Would be quite useful as backup, since they are not as high as the M16's.

i think the ironsights will stay, and yes, it has still autofire, but as on every G3 its not the best idea to use it ;-) (if the devs would have wanted to have a semi only g3 marksman variant, they would have moddeled a MSG-90 or a MSG-3)

Well, he has a right for his own opinion. And always saying "looks great" isnt constructive either. And he also said that he likes the model, but not the rifle. I'm fine with that statement.
MSG-90 or a MSG-3
Well, i guess the G3SG1 is just more common. At least more than the MSG90. No idea about the MSG3, never seen one, but i'm no expert.

well, no wonder that you've nver sen the MSG3 it is a very rare hybrid between G3/SG1 and MSG-90, but i doub that the G3/SG1 which was actually made for the german army is less common than the MSG-90, which is in open sale for armys worldwide

But isnt the MSG-90 quite new? The SG1 could have been produced earlier for the MEC (who knows what they produce). Well, i could be wrong.

hm, let me thing, no the 90 stands for the year of its introduction, don't think that this can be called new, but, yes the G3/SG1 is older
