I have nothing against putting RPs out of bounds. This is just a good way to hide them. When RP searching I often run out of bounds a little to check for RPs out there. If the RP is so far that you can't request a kit then the SL made a bad choice.

I am not gonna lie, I do it sometimes, but only on maps where there are not that many good spots. I usually do it on Ghost Train because there is a certain spot I like and not all the bushes give good cover or there is a restriction on it. It's not really that big of a problem though because they can still be easily spotted if you are reckless and just as easily taken down.
If there is good cover in a spot and it is just out of bounds, I don't see what the problem is.

Well looks like the post has got some interesting replies and i salute your honesty. I'm sure that we have all put them in some unrealistic places, close to the waterline, etc and by their nature they aren't realistic just a good approximation of a rally location.
My original post was about a SL who placed -every- rally point on more than one map out of bounds. My considerable ire was against this incident in particular, but its not evil incarnate to do so on occassion, its a bit of a grey area, and it shows that there are some fine players who do so.
We shall leave this one in the hands of the gods it seems, or the devs, or the admins and their policies or just at the discretion of the individual squad leaders.

I have seen on Al-Basrah that some British SLs like to place RPs in the water at certain points.
Now this is an exploit, as they can spawn on it, but the Insurgents cannot destroy it. I have seen many times (in one specific spot) a rally point that I attempt to knife, but the water level prevents it.
So we had a British rally point in a pretty good spot that we could not destroy. It was rediculous, because 3 times we fought back to where we would have normally destroyed the RP, but our knives and weapons would not penetrate the water to destroy it. That's truly an exploit..... the OB rally points are not as bad (but still annoying)
We got themto back off by having our full squad camping it consistently for a full ten minutes getting a lot of kills the second they spawned. That may not be sportsmenlike, but they deserved it for that exploiting behaviour. They did eventually abandon it and set up a new one somewhere else because of our camping, so it all worked out

Can the RP's be made to recieve damage if they are out of bounds, just like we do.

If so this would solve th problem and we can all get back to gaming.

Never seen it done personally, but I was lucky enough one time to put a rally next to a wall, and then spawn inside it once. You can be damn sure I used by invulnerability in that building to my advantage
But there doesn't seem to be a huge advantage to putting it out of bounds, just a bit or risk.

Wow, not even the highly effective civilian rocks worked? One well placed rock can take out a rally, compared to two knife swings.

I know someone was complaining before about the short out of bounds timer on some maps. I say, good thing too.
Blarg. This is unrelated (somewhat) but I think it fits in here.
Jets should have a longer timer... more then once now have I gone out of bounds from a high alt. evasive manouver (vertigo up the bum) and died in my cockpit... it's pretty stupid IMO.

Actually, you can shoot an underwater RP, but takes a lot of bullets. I think RPs should lose health for being out of bounds and under water.
I only saw RPs being slightly outside the map on OGT and Mestia, because the maps are so small and everyone already knows all the obvious spots inside the map for a RP.

its no problem for me. See and done it by myself a couple of times...But if the e can see and destroy it, its no problem i think. Its a good way to hide the rally.

i do it on Hills of Hamygong(however you spell it) cos there really is no where to put a rally on that damn map...

Thought a RP already get damaged and destroyed by set it underwater
But if it isnt so it would to have such a eliminationsystem

Yeah, I think it does self-destruct after a while when underwater, but too slow.

Doesn't it seem more realistic having people spawn on the edge of the map, then having to travel inwards from the outskirts? RP's placed in a building or in a corner/hidden place result in unrealistic spawning... Wtf? a whole squad just came out of that tree!
