Relace Command Post?

I have one, SL can kick players from his squad and can use the map to spot vehicles not even close to him. CO cant do either of these things, when I go CO I just build things and maybe use the red cas symbol which is great and influential to the game. But actually commanding seems not possible, its more of a please do as I ask.

So I wanted CO to be able to alter squad scores. A minor but hopefully persuasive ability for the CO? Squads actually following orders and being coordinated is the biggest change to PR I can think of

Wasnt this thread about replacing the Command Post?

I do agree the vanilla static we use atm isnt ideal It provides a really nice target for anything that can see it. Perhaps what we need is a bunker of some kind. Say just as you are allowed bunkers and firebases you can build 1 Command Bunker that acts as a spawn point as well but doesnt spawn jeeps or vodniks instead keeps the support truck. Also it should then allow you to build snadbags and razor wire near it so you can atlest defend it.

I envision a simple Bunker like structure with an additional added Flag and Radio/Satellite tower on it as well as a simple Table of maps and a computer monitor of some sort. I know objects can be put inside as I see those boxes currently in bunkers.

This way the flag can change depending on faction and that's all you need to change. It's then no longer some metal trailer but an actual command post that could technically be defended the same as a bunker can be defended. I would suggest making the door a T opening so the entrance itself is blocked by sandbags with an opening to either side so you have to leave the bunker and then turn left or right to exit. The commander inside should be protected from sniper fire or else it would be a useless bunker for a comm post. And you would be able to build it up like a bunker with shovels instead of a wrench.

That's my idea.

Sounds good. Like the idea of radio masts to identify it as a CO bunker. I read about how tanks, APCs etc carrying additional radio equipment were targeted first as they were likely to belong to senior officers in the unit.

Dont just tell people to defend a flag, tell them why ;) Much better with commanders who say "Squad 2, can you guys stay at Fishing Village while squad 1 and 3 are attacking Govermens Office?" instead of "Defend Fishing village coz i say so" :wink:
