*TEAR runs down my face* I thought that I was your friend! What about theose special times we had out clubbin'!?!?!?!?!?
JK, But...Normal? I was a te....sure, normal now*tear*[not really]
Now watch guys, as we can see a fanboy emerging, there he is now! Watch as he fires preemptive strikes at any opposition. Fascinating. :D
Im not some fanboy making premptive strikes, Im a fan[man] making first strikes!
(just kidding, but it sounds more dignified and less, evil)
But really, I am just a huge PR fan who loves this mod and was thinking about how many people are going to stay, or how many aren't really all the way there when playing PR and play a mix of PR and vanilla, then will leave PR like a b@7chy girlfriend that strangly dumped me before I could get a chance to dump her.........when a new Vanilla comes out. Anyways.

no, BF Bad Company is consol only, Battlefield 3 which has been confirmed with this photograph!!!!!!(I dont have it on this, my little sisters Mac, I have it on my PC that broke, but i'll post it later)
Plus EA owns the domain name Battlefield 3, the site Battlefield 3, and it has made "no comment" when people ask will there be a BF3.

Any ways, BF3 is another NATO vs MEC game(when will it end?!?!?!?!?!?) I think the puppet(DICE) has ran out of Ideas after BF2, cmon! BF2 MC is the same, BF BC is the same, BF3 will be the same.... How about something Like Battlefield Afghanistan? Al Q@$#@$%@ Insurgents......... Ya thats the problem, DICE is too afraid to be looked at the wrong way by Middle Eastern peoples in specific countries. So it is a force of annonomyous countires that allign to fight the US(saying WEST indicates other countires and tey don't want other countries to have to fight with the US, so its the US alone.
Thats the problem...No new Ideas, stick with the old ones....try not to offend anybody... same old cr@9, like Governer elections here in California before Arnold, the same stuff every 2 years.
Gets old, that(and because I couldn't get BF2 AF to work) are the reasons I play PR still. Although I also play Allied Intent Xtended to keep things fresh in both worlds.

BF3, I'll definitely take a peek. ;) Course, the demo and trailers, not actually buy the game when it comes out for $50! I got BF2 from the library, then I bought it the Complete Collection for $35. :p

But all I really need is PR, as SF doesn't work in Vista. Haven't tried uninstalling everything, that'd mean losing PR. And I'm too lazy to re-install the game files already on my comp.

For a quick game of silliness, Heroes, free, that'll definitely find a space on my HDD.

Again, "BF3" comes up. Although, it is in a "farce" thread.

Please, can someone, anyone show me a valid link to any sort of real announcement AT ALL stating that there is, in fact BF3 in development? BF:Heroes is not it. BF:Bad Company is not it. The ONLY other title coming out of DICE/EA is Mirrors Edge (which looks cool) and no mention of BF3.

I'm amazed how many people refer to BF3 (with screenshots) when there is no such thing officially in development. Sure it's a likelihood it'll happen one day, and yup, hopefully soon... but is there really ANYTHING out there "Official" letting us know it's happening?

The engine potential would be the only draw for me. If it would allow a truly dynamic environment, huge maps, 100+ player cap, no vehicle slot limit, etc.?! Then again, when did EA ever listen to its customers?

I Think the real question is. If said BF3 came out. And if said BF3 Game engine was good enough. Would the PR Team move to it? I Will play PR on BF2-engine for a long time to come yet. And would move to the new engine if the DEV team went down that road. As far as I am concerned. I Will play PR on what ever format the DEV team chose as I know it will have a high standard.

The Battlefield series is a cash cow, especially on the PC. Millions of players play it online, it'd be madness for EA/DICE not to make BF3. If you were a company, would you start a new series or continue making games for an old successful series? ;) EA plans on bringing back Red Alert 3, an old successful franchise. Hopefully, it won't veer away too much from RA2.

There have been some leaked articles and rumours, but as you said, nothing official. It's been said the Frostbite Engine will be used in future DICE games. Frostbite Engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I've yet to see these BF3 screenshots however. May be old beta BF2 ones people mistook for BF3.

The main target customer are teenagers. Summer's around the corner, they're out of school on holiday. We may see an announcement, maybe even a beta.

Thanks Cyrax, that's about my thoughts on it too. I think many people talk about it like it's a well known fact, and it just gets me thinking I've missed out! :) You're spot on with EA being of the milking kind, and with a VERY successful franchise like BattleField, they can't NOT make number three. Frostbite is the next logical step, and yup, I'm looking forward to it too - but with one "leaked" PDF document of no traceable origin, I'd hardly start holding my breath.

I actually contacted Dice earlier this year, and got this in reply:
Hi Bill,

Thank you for your email and your feedback.

We can tell you that we have four games under development at DICE: Battlefield Bad Company, Mirror's Edge, Battlefield Heroes and one more project that is secret for the moment.

Thank you for your interest! We have forwarded your email to the developers.

Kind Regards
DICE
Once again, I'm hoping that bodes well for us PC BattleField fans, but I'll wait for some sort of official announcement before getting too excited! :)

When BF3 comes out, PR will eventually move.

Many of you dont seem to realize this o.O

BF3 is supposedly set in a modern time as well. The engine etc. should be better (in theory) and thus the DEVs will check it out.

Not talking out of my ***, but I've seen things like this happen before.

Eventually, they may consider it, but imagine all of the work they'd have to do to bring everything from BF2 PR to BF3 PR. And what if the transfer is not smooth? Can we expect user-friendly modding from DICE/EA? New/different file extensions may be added to flex the power of the new engine, making it its own, and making some new headaches.

Maybe there'll be a team of Devs who will make the transfer but it probably won't be an easy task. Hopefully, we'll see a better editor with not so many crashes and bugs.

"and one more project that is secret for the moment"

We in the detective career call that a 'confession'. :p All we can do is wait and see. :)

Yeah it wont be as simple to just copy and paste the codes and models and maps over to frostbite engine. But atleast we may get better destroyable buildings with frostbite. :D

I dont knwo alot about the engine but I believe some features that PR has that bf2 didnt have is on bf3 "when it comes out" crossing fingers 128 players compatible.

OR maybe the devs will not mod a new PR.
