Would it not be possible to make new surfaces (i.e. sand, tarmac, rock, marsh) that look exactly the same, but make it so that things drive slower on it and name them like "offroad sand" "offroad rock" etc etc. and paint under the road decal with the normal surface, and use the offroad surface everywhere else.
I heard (from Richy) that there was a mod that made some surfaces "ice" so that cars would slide. Couldn't this be done but to the opposite end?
