We are aware of this guys, and are working on it now. In the meantime if you must patch - why not create a back up of your unpatched bf2 folder with PRMM, then patch the other copy of your bf2 folder, and then just swap the folders as required or redirect your targets and create 2 icons?
Just an idea which would give you both options?

The new patch makes vanilla a lot more pleasing if you get on a server with great teamwork. We had a good time last night. The AA changes, support changes, etc... all make the game require more tactical thinking.
My thoughts are that the sniper rifles maybe a little too accurate, as well as the support gun. In addition, the grenade throw distance is WAY too far. But overall, the patch is awesome.
