No, thats not how it works, sadly. The bullet does not come out of the camera bone but from a fixed position (I think the center of the player)

Yeah bullets ignore the camera bone completely.

Uh has anyone ever had that big a problem with prone crawlers anyway? I mean I've only seen people doing it when they are pinned behind cover and they crawl out, but while doing so they expose their arms first so you can just shoot them before they can even see you.

This didnt work as well as I hoped (Yay, turd engine) But, This coupled with lengthening the time that It takes to bring up the scope, Could atleast limit the effectiveness of instaproning.
what I have a managed to do is to get the camera shake like crazy making aiming impossible, but the shaking stops when you bring up the scope. We can increase the time it takes to bring up the scope making instaproning instaswitching to scope less effective.
For example soldier A runs around a corner and meets soldier B, Soldier A instaprones while soldier B dont, Soldier A now has 2 choices, face the shaking camera and fire without seeing where the center of the screen is or bring up the scope and face a 3 second "to scope" time without the ability to fire.
Soldier B, who didnt instaprone, can commence shooting on soldier A without the shaking camera, Still unscoped but he has the advantage.
Anyways, the original suggestion is now plausible again.

Its more about prone spamming and it could improve gameplay, and please dont try to kill my idea

And it happend to me pretty much, even in my Unit we learn to jump on the ground and start crawling when engaged by the enemie and fire back, (we did it on the Basic Training when i was still a Rct)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ohyeah if you look at FH2 for example the thompson, when you aim and shoot it has an animation or something that gives you the feeling you are realy aiming the gun yourself
(sort of weapons sway when you aim, its on the snipers too, hard to explain since English ain my first language )
but you get some nice fire fights with it

but thats maybe an whole different suggestion

Huh? What? I thought mosquill only pitched the scope (camera bone) up to zero the rifle?

As long as we have fireInCameraDof = 1, we can't affect bullets with animations in any way.

That's correct.

yes prone spam/prone crawling is a huge issue that needs dealing with, but it requires a very talented animator and LOTS of time, but would be great to have this fixed at some point..
The high crawl (on your stomach) from that video is the only practical one for ingame. The rest are just for going under barbwire or overhead objects for example.
I think COD4 has a good animation for crawling and so does America's Army, but it would kind of be complicated to model since you would need 2 different kinds of crawling. The US high or something like that of COD4, and then the British would do their own kind of crawl since they have a bullpup, meaning they maybe able to point their weapon forward but elevated, while they use their left arm to crawl.
There really isn't a problem with prone crawlers right now since it takes forever to crawl anyway, so it might be better to just leave it, especially since you can't lean out of cover.

Can the center view be moved? I mean it is now in the middle of your body instead of your head.
Kinda unrealistic...

I think it's just a myth. The camera is located almost between the eyes of soldier afaik.

Nah i don't think its a myth. Have you ever saw a guy on a rooftop looking over the ridge while proning? You can see his arms and even his head going over the ridge if you stand under it, but he cant see you because his camera is not in this head.

Its not a myth at all. 100% fact.

Oh you mean in prone position. I think if it'll be moved forward for prone position you'll be able to see through walls/objects. But the camera is in the head for crouch/stand afaik.
