I thought it was known that if you fire off rapid shots with a sniper rifle they tend to be not accurate (in game). Anyways if you have the sniper kit and your shooting that fast and obviously not hitting anything you probably should not have the kit in the first place.

The change in snipers is that u MUST hold scope still for 3 seconds or the shot is deviated. After 3 seconds the sniper will hit dead on. However the m40 is faulty. I have noticed that playign on hills of hymyong with sniper kit after waiting a good 4 seconds in some spots, the bullet doesnt hit its mark. This is medium range, i know im adjusting for height right, i cant see the puff of somke after a certain range so i have no idea, but the target doesnt go down at all, and i dont think he even noticed me shooting at him.... wtf is up with that rifle? The other sniper rifles are ok, i have adjusted to the ridicolous 3 second rule, but the m40 is shit. It cant even put down a target hit in the gut or upper chest area in close range, VERY close range.
Had a WHOLE squad below me (me shooting from crane), and i was trying to wait the 3-4 seconds, and some of the targets got missed (wow...) but the ones that did hit didnt die, they patiently waited for their medic, some ran away and ptahced themselves up behind a corner.... wtf is the point of that rifle then.

So how do your track targets and shot them if you have to keep it still for 3 sec?
By 3 secs the target has moved again.

apparently the M40 does little damage at range, the puff is the bullet going throgh the player and hitting the ground (lame). but the rifle loses a lot of velocity and misses them, aim for the head, which is ridiculous but the only way.

veoh is showing adverts hence why czech is exluded as being outside their catchment area, they wont get any money back from showing adverts to you so they aint wasting bandwidth on you. America tv networks do this all the time so you cant get episodes early
The sniper thing, yea they are hard to use properly. 99% should stick to dmr, it really is much more powerfull and effective.
Sniper has a bigger scope (pointless if the view distance is low especially) and does a bit more damage, but really a double tap on the dmr is better
The camouflage suit or just camouflage in general doesnt work because bf2 engine is bunk, use fixed polygon objects not pixel scenery. Aircon units on top of buildings will not ever disappear and have gaps in the base to place your scope through.
If you get spotted behind one of those its because you were too close as Ive spent whole rounds firing off a dmr that way
I think the only time you can lie on the ground and hide is something like OGT, multiple layers of the trees will obscure but still let a scope maybe have a shot (for a brief while)
Please if you make an accuracy video, do it with explosive barrels, looking for smoke puffs on a blocky compression riddled video is painful and smoke effects are calculated by the client for graphics only where as a barrel exploded must be confirmed by server side calculations afaik

Well it was actually a video to trial what Sony Vegas 8 was like, but yeah I was sick of people grabbing the sniper kit and then whining about not being able to hit anything. Also, it was a local game hosted on my computer, so there would be no client-server mismatch... I should really have made it zoom in for each shot like I did for a few of the last ones, to make it really clear between the crosshair and hit point, but TBH it was just a trial and I'm very new at vegas (as you might be able to tell by how the zoom jumps in and out then in again sometimes... unintentional
Like one of the previous posters said, and my text emphasized... why would a designated marksman [crouched] be able to make the shots but a [prone] sniper would be unable to make the same shots? There should at least be equivalence... and TBH with the extended training that I've heard about for snipers, I'd expect the sniper rifles to be pretty friggin accurate at ~300m.

I have never fired a sniper rifle of course nor even a m14 but if its zero'd to 600m then it might not be great for 300m?
In game I generally agree with the setup of the sniper kit being so harsh, it encourages proper use at extreme distances
I tried vegas and it was generally too much hassle with not much more ability over windows media maker, I know thats lame/lazy but I dont get why vegas is so great or how it'll improve the end result particularly or the ease of getting a HQ vid available to view by any online

In game I generally agree with the setup of the sniper kit being so harsh, it encourages proper use at extreme distances

Well the outfit work only if the sniper is close enought, in Battlefield Bad Company the outfit REALY work...you became praticly invisible in the trees even if you are 600M away from the one you shoot. In BF2 if the sniper is too far away you dont see hes gun you just see a skin moving...

ok all of the 7.62x51mm snipers eg: m40a3, l115a1, m14 do not start to loose damage untill 600m, they do the full 80 damage, and that is a kill shot. now If you can tell every one you know, THE GUNS ARE NOT ZEROED, THE BULLETS DONT SLOW DOWN, it just seems that every one thinks this is the case.

In the wookie sniper mod, ghillie suites make anything under it invisible. Head rifle and holes in the suit are all that you can see. I am not sure if this is linked to full map view distances, or something that would affect non Ghillie players.
