TfcIan wrote:I have a bit of a problem, my cd key in the registry does not have the x9293 bit at the start, just the key. I tried adding it in but it never worked. Don't know what to do, any ideas?
i re-entered a CD-Key into the program in the support folder and i now have the same problem....adding it in doesnt work :/
might i also add that i have to use a keygen to enter the CD-Key because i have lost the manual for my game :S

HI guys.
I've been playing BF2 and PR for about a year now. I use vista, and apart from the PB problems, i played fine. I recently downloaded FH2. i started getting black screens, i figued it was FH2 doing this, so i uninstalled. PR loaded up fine, i tried to join a game, and it said "Your CD-Key is not valid". I wasn't given a CD-Key. It was an EA download, the only request it has, is to have EA download manager open, while i play. I was given a Key for the Boosterpacks, but they are for activation. I have reinstalled, and re-downloaded but it still doesnt work. Please help me
Rob

I bought my Battlefield 2 copy in summer 2005. I played it for a while but have not played it since 2006 i believe.
Now last weekend i was at a LAN party and me and some friends decided to give battlefield 2 a go. We found out about PR and thought it looked cool. We played it on LAN and had a great time.
So later i tried to play on the internet. It gives me "Your CD-Key is not valid" error. I thought the problem was because i had installed the PR mod by copying the mod folder over to me from a friend. So i did a fresh install of Battle field 2 and got the original .exe files for CORE and LEVELS.
After the fresh install i still have the "Your CD-Key is not valid" error.
I really want to give this mod a try with more than 6 players! I was really impressed and my friend keeps telling how awesome it is. But doesn't work for me. I tried the registry thing and whatever is mentioned.
An update on the error would be appreciated. Thanks!
(i use vista 64 bit!)
Update: The one and only server i can play on is the Lithuanian PR server. I don't know why i can only join that one and no other server. Is this server different from others? anyways its one server that work...
Update nr2: The lithuanian PR server does not work anymore as i had to update PunkBuster. Every server i try gives me "Your CD-key is invalid" error. Damnit
update nr3: I found a working fix! Please take a look into the non-stickied threads!

I bought BF2 ages ago using EA Download Manager, and I am returning to PR after a six month gap, to find a new update (good) and the familiar infuriating installation problems (bad). My question is where do i find the CD key for my game? I assume it has one despite being a digital copy because I have the same x9392 followed by loads of characters. I have tried logging into my EA account on the new shiny website but I can see no account of past games bought, which is where I expected the CD-key to be, so what can I do?

Hi, i am a fresh member of PR community and i got a terrible cd key problem.
I've got XP SP2 32 bit
I've installed BF2, BF2 1.41 patch, 0.86 core and levels, and made sure that PR works.
It works but when i can't join an internet server beause of this cd key problem.
I've tried to apply this solution but my regedit doesnt open. I type "regedit" to the "run" but nothing happens.
Thats why i cant change my cd key. People generally say that this problem is generated by a virüs and i should reinstall the XP.
I've tried to reinstall game and mods, also tried cdkeychanger, %temp% or other solutions but nothing happened.
Is there any other way to open the regedit in my computer? or should i reinstall the XP as i've been told?
Note : I've also tried the various solutions to bring back the regedit but they also didn't work. Also scanned whole computer with kis09 in safe mode.
I would appreciate if anyone can help
Best!
