'[R-MOD wrote:Masaq;706003']No they're not.
The game doesn't handle 4,000 rounds/minute, it can't make a gun fire that quick. So with guns like the minigun and the GAU-8, they have lower RoF but each individual "firing" has a batch of rounds within it; basically they fire bursts. Splash damage is then added so there's a slight area effect, representing three rounds landing in close proximity.
As for the 12.7mm guns, if you want the values to be accurate it shouldn't be too hard a job for someone to go look up the correct fields of fire for each vehicle's mounted gun. I suggest you start with
Google
The spread of the minigun should be a bit bigger so you can actually hit stuff when your not hovering perfectly

using .50 against aircraft should be a natural thing to do as the M2's first purpose was as a Anti-Aircraft gun. I think that while the arc is realistic, it is detremental to helos, but then again, helos should fear large guns like a 50.

Don't quote me but I seem to remember, reading something about the devs having plans to give the Blackhawk .50-cals instead eventually. There's still the Little Bird though I guess.

To be honest, gunning in transport chopper(other then the black hawk) is almost impossible, the chopper usually is hard to hold steady enough for the gunner to put fire down, witch is hard with no splash damage. (unlike the minigun)

*Thinks back to Kashan 16 where a BH kept two whole squads and their supporting vehicles pinned at South Villiage*
*Shrug*
Maybe I'm just running into really good pilots a lot, It seems that most of the pilots like the idea and I've got to figure that they'd have a pretty good idea of how hard it is to counter a .50, though I don't think taking away arcs is the answer, there are situations where you need that wide arc, city fighting springs to mind, where you need large firing arcs to hit what's ambushing you, especially if they take up position on buildings.

I agree. I would also like to know what would happen if a 40mm Grenade hit a chopper and exploded, same with 40mm hitting a Car

And on the question of what a .50 would do to a chopper, It depends.
A vast majority of the bullets will pass harmlessly through the skin of the chopper and not hit a critical system. But, 1 or 2 bullets into the engine and the chopper goes down; a few hits in the hydraulic actuators or computers, and the chopper pilot loses control.
If only their was a way to implement a better damage system in the bf2 engine....

I guess we can... AFAIK the DEV's can make the rounds do alot more damage in the engine area and little damage in the bottom area of the chopter. But i think i remember that that wond be possible with Dice models since we are not allowed to edit them
