(A) The insurgents are extremely strong as is.
(B) I personally have a great appresiation for the AK47 now. And it is stronger than the british or american weapons. the only thing is, the ins have no body armour so it seems like they get whipped in a firefight.
But really, the main problem is, people rarely fight in proper numbers. greater numbers intimidate the enemy. so instead of being one guy and getting rushed, you should have a couple of buddies there to keep your enemys behind cover so they wont chance it so much. Then just stick your gun out a little from behind cover and take some pot shots. this usually gets some good effects. granted its not as deadly and profisient as a marksman kit, but thats how war really is. And really in real life, insurgents get overpowered because they dont have specialist training.
