Real snipers carry an M4 with their sniper rifle in a drag bag on their back. Marksmen don't carry a second weapon, other than a pistol, which by all means they should have.

My 2 cents.

Dont real snipers have a spotter with an M4/L85 or whatever?? Also i think an SMG or carbine is going a bit OMG 1337!! But a pistol for those real close bits i would say maybe yes, but to be honest, we dont want the Marksman/Sniper kit getting any more OMG 1337 as everyone seems to love them atm!

you can pwn anyone with any marksman kit rifle at almost any range. Sorry, but I disagree

i think the pistol would be the most a sniper (who already has it) and a marksman should get....and we shuld get rid of the auto aim thing on the pistols and LMGs..cuz pistols pwn at close range some times betetr than a rifle cuz you can shoot them quickly and accuratly w/ worrying bout muzlle climb

IMHO, the Marksman Kit pretty much gives you a superior rifle at all ranges, this goes double for the British. If you're using full auto with any conventional force standard rifle, you're doing something wrong, there are very few exceptions to this rule, from that perspective, you get superior range, superior power and an identicle scope.

I was playing Basrah and had a Marksman Kit and had to defend my squads rally, I turn around, baddie, I open up and drop him, go around a corner, 'nother baddie, drop him as well, start going down the street because now my SL tells me to rondevouze with them, I cut a swath through that city until I did the dumb thing and pulled out my knife, all of these engagements were between .5 and 20 meters. While it will always be best to hang back and take things on at long range with the Marksman Kit, it is still very effective at close range.

source jarhead ? really, snipers sometimes have a 2. rifle, but only in their marching stuff and not when they go to a mission
