Evasive maneuvers trying to shake off a missile?

Yes, because in a real PR dogfight you are going to lign up and fly under the bridge to evade the enemy, rather than dropping flares and using effective evasive maneuvers. ;)

Here we go. :) There is a big noob flying the first 2 though. :p

YouTube - Below the radar

YouTube - Qinling

YouTube - Littlebird Low-flying 2.101

YouTube - Project Reality Missile Cam

There are just too many. :)

^^Since we are talking about evasive manuevers, do you have any good ones that you wanna share? :)

evasive maneuvers are map Dependant upon their execution, eg.

on a low level map for a chopper (Qwai, Qinling) you pop flares like a mofo and aim to get your nose as close to the deck as fast as you can, then move out of the area using trees/hills to mask your escape (bearing in mind that this all needs to happen as soon as you hear the missile lock tone).

for high level chopper maps (Kashan) you still pop flares like a mofo but only drop enough altitude to get you out of the attackers view distance once out of the danger, turn 180 and establish your altitude again.

Although when your getting attacked by jets/choppers your best bet is to flare to avoid the incoming (being mindful of the 75M detonation radius of the missile) and then beat back your attacker.

It's all fun and games until chopper rotors have a collision box.

What, What, WHAT?! Thats sick! I knew the blast radius was big, but 75 meters.. WOW!

yeah simply put if your a hovering chopper and a missile is on its way your dead, its that simple.

the missiles were designed to counter jets, due to them being much faster they needed a big 'boom' to counter the fast moving hitboxes sadly choppers suffer the consequences.

I can usually count on Maverick to get people from A to B whilst performing loops in mid-air without dying. It's rather hard to hit a spinning Merlin with a rocket, unless the spin slams right into it. :p But that's pure chance or smooth calculation.

'[R-CON wrote:OkitaMakoto;721489']Have you ever seen the videos of ScoththeKiller?

Im too tired now, but theres videos on youtube of him flying and looping under the bridge on Qwai, fliying between some buildings, and unloading a squad with no tail rotor among other things..

should be under gtownd's youtube video list

Pretty cool though

bahhh, here you go:

Scoth is the best LB pilot I know. I've flown with him as his Squad Leader in a Qwai game - which he should remember vividly.

Seriously, all you players who missed Muttrah v1 lost a great opportunity to learn how to fly. My own LB-flying skill (which isn't too impressive, only because I never practice stunts and always screw them up online when I try :o ops :) came mostly from those 24/7 Muttrah games; Qwai just isn't the same.

Anyway, the OP's video is outstanding, and we all know about the bad ending.

That 75m blast radius explains why my heli got shot down even though I deployed flares and the missile followed them.

As for the OP's video, it's a cool skill but nothing really impressive. Last night me n my friends were hanging out and I did that stunt after take off, and then several more times through-out the night. And I didn't even clip the bridge lol. Now what would impress me, is if you fly like a meter above the ground down one of the main roads on that map, and between all those light poles. THAT'd be nice to see.

what would impress me would be having a perfect round on qwai transporting squads to flags and back , helping the team win with coordination with commander and other squad leaders, providing spot on CAS for ground troops, getting troops to where they need quickly and without putting in more danger than needed. clearing the skies with a fighter, sitting at main waiting for squads to ask for a pick up rather than flying around with no 1 in landing next to people in a middle of a firefight shouting get in. no one cares about these crappy tricks which help no one, any one can do with some practice and which no one unless ur a total fanboy gives a **** about.

also, the missile explodes when it reaches within 75m of you ? ive had some pretty close calls recently, alot closer than 75m

Nick said they have a 75m blast radius to deal with jets, which would stand to reason considering some of the ways I've died.

Is it 75m on those 2 "long range missiles" only or something? Coz those ATA missiles with chorter range, dont seem to have the same power.
