I think the bushes now are fine, it makes the player look for there spot, cuts noobs down and makes it better. Yes the sniper may hate it but still, with only 2 sniper kits per a team we only need 4 bushes like that covering each flag. And if it will increase lag dont do it.

No the enviroment in places like Quinling would need more and bigger bushes I would also love some more cover like old stone fences. Etc etc.

A possible very crude example, taken from a practice map i made along time ago:

Image

My idea being to create a overgrowth material that contained just bushes, with the density of such set to high. I would then surround areas that i planned and thought players would shoot from (bases of fire), such as outside of woods and high ground, with a thin strip of this overgrowth material.

The reason was simple - at moment you are either behind bullet proof cover or not. This means there is no point shooting at objects players hide behind, therefore meaning players on shoot when they can directly see enemy players, thus equating to less shooting.
However if 20 - 50% of the time, when a player hidden from view by an object he was not protected from bullets by it - then there would be a point to shooting at objects you thought an enemy might be hiding behind becuase it would be quite likely your bullets would pass through that object and kill the enemy.
This could result in players shooting much more and creating firefights - i debate the existence of proper ones in PR!

Knowing the difference between cover and concealment would actually be relevant in PR, at the moment it is not!

Yeah, it seems like almost all open ground is completely open. PR doesn't have very many areas that give medium cover to infantry. There are large, open plains, and then there are clustered, urban environs. Not much in between. More small villages with no strategic (cap point) value could really increase the tactical depth ingame. Squads could set up firebases inside small villages, and there would be more areas for sporadic fighting.

Take Quinling for example. Small villages spread across Quinling would give infantry smaller objectives to achieve, and make gameplay more interesting. Instead of a squad humping it a few km to the next flag, engaging in a long distance firefight, dying and repeating the process, they could move through and clear several towns (with possible skirmishes/ambushes), set up a rally, then move to the final obj.

Would pace out combat more, and would allow for greater replayability of open maps.

*EDIT* Above idea is great. Would definately assist in firefights.
