'[=TC= wrote:nuetron;731032']Yeah, thats because North Atlantic Treaty Organization is different from Central Asian Treaty Alliance...
What? Let me clarify:

Here's the map rotation for Server A:

Map X (MEC vs. GB)

Map Y (PLA vs. US)

Map Z (MEC vs. GB)

In this case, because there are two CATA factions (MEC and PLA) and two NATO factions (GB and US), wouldn't it be impossible to call them simply "NATO" and "CATA" in their respective maps without causing a file name conflict?

Back to the discussion of a realistic name for the MEC, we could just keep it simple and only call the current Middle Eastern Coalition "CATA". If the above scenario is impossible, this is what I recommend - forget the technical argument in such a case.

And I am NOT saying CATA...I am saying a name for the Middle Eastern Faction Not the CATA for MEC and Peoples Republic of China, but just one NEW name for the "MEC".

I couldn't care less about what you're saying(not that I don't care about you, but you're saying something different) I am talking exclutivley about a NATO equal for Middle Eastern countries and Middle Eastern Countries alone, not CATA with PRC and middle eastern countires.

A new name for the MEc, considering that a coalition between middle eastern countires(MEC) would be an equivelent(not as far as military strenght) to NATO.

Read my last paragraph. Would it make sense to call only the MEC "CATA"?

The acronym "JAM" or Jaiysh al-Mahdi/ Mahdi Army (Sadr's Militia), is a real insurgent group currently operating in the OIF Theater

But, the Middle East is not in Cental Asia, its southern, while China is more east asian....

But that name might fit if it was SATA: South Asian Treaty Alliance

OR you could simply use SCO: Shanghai Cooperation Organisation which is the name of the real thing.

it may only be in its grassroots stages as of now but they have already conducted numerous military excersises and announced their intentions of being a counterbalance to US dominance.

tbh the concept of a united middle east is laughable at best, if it were my call i would simply turn it into a more militarised Iran. G3s and russian vehicles all fit and Iran holds observer status in the SCO bringing it in league with China and Russia, only problem is that the MEC speak arabic instead of Farsi.

Middle Eastern Treaty Alliance

plus META sounds cool, it may be because we have all heard MEC(mech) for years now, but I think META sounds better than MEC.

Speaking about realism... arabs wouldn't give a name for their army in english language, but arabic ;)

Besides, name change does not affect gameplay, so what's the point of changing it? Do you really need it?

I reckon you'd need something Arabic as suggested by the previous poster but also secular, as they don't sppear to me to be based on a religion but are a professional army. (as an a aside I'd still love to see a few 'MEC' vs insurgent maps)

So.....anyone speak Arabic?

'[=TC= wrote:nuetron;730946']CMA: Coalition of Muslim Armies

There is no need for a name change, Middle Eastern Coaliation is fine and clearly states who they represent!
[R-DEV]Jaymz - If it wasn't for the F-18's incompetence, "Independence Day" would have ended half-way through.
