US was developing a special anti-helicopter shell for their tanks but it was scrapped.
Certainly in PR, this is the case. I'm sure its happened before in RL engagements, but i doubt it is commonplace. No tanker with an ounce of brain would expose themselves to an attack helicopter, way too risky.

The comment about russian tanks being armed with an ATGM - proven deadly against helicopters - ?

When was this used? Proven Deadly? ATGM's are theoretically deadly against copters but it isn't the tool of choice - theory goes as far as against a slow moving in deflection terms or stationary, but i haven't seen any evidence?

Do you have any.. if so post.

Now how is that realistic.

Until you somehow remove the fog from the attack helicopters so they can rape you from 2km away nothing should change.
Come and try and shoot some of the guys i know out of the sky 99% of the time, I would wager that their K :D ratio would be at least 20:1 flying low and tactically, against tanks ONLY without AAA in support if not more. If i see anyone get 99% kills against MAFIA2481 or [R-DEV]Nickbond or Spaz i will eat my hat.

First of all, its a fact that tanks with theyre tracking and stabilization systems can hit moving targets quite well. Whether that's a chopper I don't know, but its certainly possible.

Heres my suggestion, Make AA's range farther and more deadly. Then make choppers spawn time alot shorter. And give choppers fire and forget hellfires( click once and missle goes to were you clicked). And vola, more realism all around.
