I thought the AK "we" use today has been modified slightly since ww2 right? So that statement is wrong anyway.

I cant hit shit with any gun ingame that hasnt got scope so I cant help you with this one Seriously! How do you aim with the iron sight guns...

on sp i hit a moving target with an ak like 200m it really depends on the shooter.

have you tried the G3 ironsights? you can pop someones head at 300 m with that thing its crazy.

G3 is my fav on the game.

MG-42 and PPsh. Modern LMG's and SMG's might be more accurate, but they cant match the durability, low production cost or ROF of those classics.

I've used to run around the 'field with AK variant made in now former Yugoslavia, M70 that was using 7.62x39mm with fixed stock, along with H&K G3 7,62x51. When firing single rounds, it had a way much recoil than G3 but still u could hit the bull on 100m shooting range if it was maintained properly and you had time to get to know your weapon. When spraying, you could hit anywhere but the intended target.
But when 15+ M70s start to sing, it doesn't really matters as those on the path keep their'e heads low.

The main problem with the AK47 ingame is the sights. The awful vBF2-sight used is more "zoomed in" then many of the other rifles. Since the eye of the shooter is closer to the barrel the recoil feels more powerful.

And about that "M16 vs. AK47"-video that someone posted... What a stupid test. Who knows if the guy firing the AK is a worse shooter then the one firing the M16? If the same guy had fired both rifles it would have been easier to take it seriously.

first i like to say that i've not actually fired the AK or the M16A2, but i've handled them both and been trained to pick them apart and together again... in my opinion the AK is to small to handle proporly, this also affects the LOS (line of sight) of the weapon, making it less accurate than most other carbines. the weapon is primarely made for CQB, used for engageing enemys in shorter distanses than the russian artillery can fire! it's very simple to handle and maintain in the field, this has made it a favorite of terrorist and guerilla warfare! the M16 is a more sofisticated weapon with better LOS and better iron sights witch makes it more accurate! but the drawback is that it has more and smaller parts, making it harder to maintain in the field and more likely to jam! if you compare these two with the G3 (this one i have fired), the G3 is extremly accurate with an even longer LOS, making it a far superior 'sniping-rifle' (actually used by the swedish army as a sniper-rifle till the end of the 80's), the recoil of the G3 is another deal (kicks like a mule compered to 5.56 carbines) making it very hard to fire in automatic mode! but on the precision side it's hard to beat (mounted in a test-rigg it will fire in the same hole over and over again!)

-I like the PR AK, though the recoil is a bit too much(AG3 as well). It's not good when you get up to around 150-200 m but when you hit someone they either die or will do so very soon. You can "feel" the bullet more than with the M16 as well.

It doesn't suck at all, you just suck at shooting in PR. To be honest, the rifle kick *** in PR, rules mestia that's for sure.

Well then use the SKS, or learn to click really fast in semi auto. Either way you're wrong the AK47 is a damn good gun even in full auto.

actually i think your thinking about the ak74..its teh 5.56 version...but i think the original ak47 has stayed the same as WW2

Sometimes I'll take up an AK over the L85 when up close and personal against Insurgents. As advised, only use full auto if you are spraying from the hip at a target 10m away.

Spray with impunity, I say! There's bound to be ammo somewhere.
