Well, if mirror surfaces indeed don't work, I suggest having the 'rear view' cam set up on the driver's side(left) mirror, so that when you hit your 'look back' button, it's like your eyes are on the mirror, if you get what I'm saying. 360 view should be for the gunner only, and the mirror thing serves it's purpose: allowing the driver to see behind him when backing up.

Side note: Sorry about the little rant, but when people shoot down 'minor detail' suggestions, it really pisses me off.
