I have a shiny new harddrive laying here, that's gonna be plugged in when 0.8 comes out.
So I'm doing the full circle of installment.

Rickrolling is not appreciated, especially not in a thread like this.

Trust me, the testing is very thorough (I should know, I'm one of the people doing it ;)

And yes, it will, as far as I am aware, be a full release. Trust me, the huge amount of new content will be more than worth it (take my word for it, you'll be amazed)

I keep hearing Homer Simpson saying “Stop saying that!” when I read the above………..the wait is killing us….

*grumbles* RL is a pain. I've been doing some solo testing too though!

And I'll do my best to be more active from now on.

The lol and the laughing emoticon kind of indicated that, but I really do feel bad about it.

I expect a full install again, and I think thats the best way to go.
Not for people who have slow internet, and you may well say "then what is the point in downloading if you have slow internet as pr is multiplayer based" well you need the core and levels for PRSP which is my only alternative and also pretty... pretty badass for small LANs.

So by the sounds of it we are all going to have to buy new external Hard Drives to install 0.8

*Begins to look for ones with a Terabyte of space*

Eh? Why? It might be a bit bigger than .7, but judging by the stuff we have to download for testing, it's not that much.

Something I always have hated is that I usually have to DL with the internet browser and suddendly it may hang up so the whole dl thingy is ruined and I have to do it again or I lose connection and the whole thing is ruined sooooo will PR 0,8 be Torrent aswell?

I certainly hope there is a torrent. I max out at 160kb/s down so when my browser decides it wants to jump off a bridge my download goes with it.

what should be is to have the game servers shut down for a day before release so that they could be uploaders and then the day after they would turn on and anybody into the game would be able to play and have one hell of a day/night on release. (full servers ftw) .

honestly can't wait for the new grenade launchers and medic updates. and the surprise of our devs work (and community (testing etc))

it's gonna be pretty... pretty bad ***.

Full install is better simply because it minimizes the chance of getting a corrupt install. Full installation is always preferable, and the last thing we want is people complaining that 0.8's been released but they spent an hour downloading a 0756 -> 08xx patch that doesn't work properly.

Yes, it takes time to download but so what? Put it on to download using a download manager or use a torrent program, and get it over a few days. There'll be people playing 0.75 for a week or so after 0.8's release, so it's not like you won't be able to get a PR fix in the interim :)

^^Believe me, when 0.8 is out none of us will be able to play 0.75 :p

You'll have to, 0.8 is to be invite only. We'll be contacting everyone who's donated to the website running costs in the past 12 months and issuing them unique serial keys to play 0.8 with.

Everyone else will be using a limited-content 0.8 "Lite" version, which will only allow 30 minutes of play per session, only allow you to request one special kit per week, and will have big pink tags over your player avatar that reads "PR N00B HERE", which will be viewable from 200m away by all factions...

...or not :D Personally, as soon as each new release comes out the very first thing I do is hit uninstall on the old even before the new one's finished downloading lol.
