hypotheticaly i would like to see the G3 replaced by the M60

We are currently working on a portable minigun with underslung HAT launcher for the MEC.

Expect more info soon.

I like the difference the G3 gives to the MEC army over the other assault rifle factions. If it had to go, however, it would have to be either a nice modern German assault rifle, or a fictional one of their own design.

well, the g3 suits the role as the MEC battle rifle just fine, but i'd suggest replacing some of the other MEC weapons; like the HK53 should be changed back to the AKS-74u, and maybe make the 21E be made back into the RPK-74 so that the MEC seems more like a military that buys from the suppliers that offer the best equipment for the lowest price. I don't see why the MEC would be getting their weaponry almost exclusively from a German company (unless there's a backstory about the MEC striking a deal with H&K that i don't know about).

this weapon wouldn't be very suitable for the current classes, but the AN-94 Abakan is my favorite small arms weapon, and IMO itd be pretty sweet with the 2-round burst in Project Reality.

It'd have to be an AK, what else do you need?
(prefferably one of the newer variants like the AK-107/

AK-108 or AK-103 would be nice! Or an H&K 416, maybe MEC's got a new contract

NOT Hk 416! Keeping to the MEC tradition of 7.62x51 ammunition, and since most armies will replace the rifle but keep the same ammunition due to abundance in production, the HK417 would make more sense. It would work almost like a G3 except maybe more controllable and easy to use in CQB.

What was the point of this thread, again? You could get the same information from all the "z0mg change teh G3 to an Ak47 because the MEC are teh p00r (and fastr0pes, plz)" threads.

You do realize that the M16 is the one known for accuracy, while the AK-47 is known for higher stopping power and reliability?

WidBill: Why would they use both 7.62 NATO and 7.62 short? Wouldn't two different NATO-standard calibres make more sense? And why rifles from different manufacturers when you get 90 % of your stuff from one of them already?

I do think the HK33 is sexy. But so is the G3. I think they should stay with the G3.

The faction is also called the MEC, not the "Mec", as it's an abbreviation. Changed the thread title.

I'd like to see them use something like the OICW, G11 or XM8. A more high tech/expermental weapon since they have lots of monies! The G3 is perfectly fine though and gives the MEC their own uniqness.

Even though the probly could not afford it I would like to see this.

It would be smartest to give all there soldiers guns that work the same. Its easier to train them.

Keep the G3, but add a carbine kit to the spawn kits.

Seriosly... an g3 with cooler looks and less recoil and i mean dat..

(g3)+k(short/kurz)+a4(version4)= cool and a great way to pursue the hk and g3 style and theme.
ofc it has to come in tacticool black.....

higher recoil if anything since if you had the stock folded you wouldnt have any support. But the recoil on thee G3 is ridiculous sure it has a fair bit of recoil IRL but its over the top atm. I still love it though.

To everyone who thinkz that MEC should get a new gun like a A&K-74 and replace the G3, i say u eat lead............come on serriously, if ure obsessed with A&K go play as an teroristi or a ruski when 0.8 comes out.....

The only gunz that will replace should be a hommade on the KH-2**** ant this one should be the only posabillity...
