I've seen both of them get blown out of the sky with the same regularity. By giving the MEC the opportunity to drop firebases/bunkers wherever they want with little coordination, it gives the MEC a huge bonus in mobility.

I support the multibox suggestion.

They should attach a gau8 on both sides

co pilot "Shit, hat incomming. DO SOMETHING"
Pilot "i cant i cant"
left gunner "ill deal with it you fools"
*left gunner fires his gau8, cow does a vanilla helo roll with the force of the gau8*

Problem solved :)

Orly?

:p

And it was a seakinght in CoD 4, tyvm.

And the Vietnam era "Go-Go Birds" did have automatic grenade launchers, though it was mounted on the nose.

Mi-17's are pretty maneuverable(atleast for me), they'r just not as fast as the BH, plus underarmed. Why not give the MEC the vanilla Hind-35, it's an export version of the MI-24 anyway, so the MEC could get ahold of some of them, asymetrically speaking, give it a longer spawn time than the Blackhawk or Merlin, since it'd be able to defend itself better. IRL the hind can't do very sharp turns because of problems of the tail rotor being cut off by the main rotor(AFAIK it hasn't been fixed), so make the hind not as maneuverable as the Cobra or Apache helicopters.

Hey how about we just leave it alone instead of giving the mec a gunship... It seems like it hasn't occured to you people that in real life, not every vehicle has a counterpart, and all armies arn't balanced. The cow is just as manuverable as the blackhawk, it's just slower. If both choppers are being used properly, the difference really doesn't matter. People are just angry they can't do 1337 gunship runs with the cow.

Leave the Mi-8 as it is. It's really not that big of a deal that it is slower and a slightly bigger target than it's Kashan Desert counterpart, the Seahawk. Not that any of those things have a significant effect on gameplay, anyway.

It's not the Mi-8, it's Mi-17.

Same thing -- MI-17 is the export designation; MI-8M is the Russian army designation.

Aren't the miniguns on the side of the BH being changed in PR because they're only used on one BH squadron?

I think your correct Tirak. IIRC they are only used on the SOAR birds.

Yeah, the Minis on the UH-60 are silly.

To everyone who said it's the -17 and not the -8, they're basically the same thing :p

The payload of the Mi-8M/Mi-17 is 8,000 lbs roughly, while the UH-60 carries two and a half thousand pounds... doesn't seem at all unreasonable to me that the Mi-8 could be given a second crate.

Both the UH-60 and the Ch-47 can be equipped with Mk.19 AGMs. As in its possible, but no designation of aircraft exist that carries a Mk.19. To my knowledge Mk.19s haven't been tested on these platforms. Most UH-60s only carry one minigun and then have a M240H. Ch-47s carry M240H also.

one of the ways to differentiate Mi-8 from Mi-17 is the position of the tail rotors. Mi-8 has left tail rotor while Mi-17 has right.

We're talking about the Mi-8M.

Mi-8M / Mi-8MT is the Mi-17, the Mi-8M has the right-handed tail rotor because it is the Mi-17.
