Very nice model... Im a noobie too in Blender I can make a cup etc. But Im looking into modelling guns and human models etc. into PR.

Did you find tut from somewhere to make the lowpoly human or? You used curving technique from some 2D picture. Like the vest etc. Curving again?

08/13 UPDATE! Check first post!

(Did I name the thread [Textures] or did some sneaky RMOD do that to make me look insane?)

Z-Trooper exported the BF2 USMC light player for me to use for scaling, etc.
As for this 'curving technique' I'm totally unaware of one at this point, I just manipulate one vertex at a time.

Hey mate.

Are you planning to do models for mod or something? I would be glad to help.

Hope this is not too off topic, could you provide me information how did you model the helmet, maybe VIA Private Message. Ty.

Also the soldier model would be nice so I could try to start modeling. Im thinking to do first a SF dude for my personal purpose, so I can try it out.

Altough I would be very interested to be in some group modelling for mod.

This is what I meant with 2D modelling. Bellorum's Corner - Headmodeling tutorial

Yeah.. I'll work on that... Still a nub with this modelling stuff, I have no idea how to do simple things like that.

How about this helmet light?

And a patrol cap for the SF class? (More square at the top)

Or a soldier with sunglasses and his goggles in its sock?

And a new camelback/hydration pack model, like the gaurd woman in this pic:

Or another kit with the NVG mount without the NVG (The whole mount, not just the clip on the helmet)

Sorry, I'm just really excited for realistic kit models :D

Hi ReadMenace.

My favorite goggles from ESS are those ESS Ice ones. I see many US troops using them, they are cool looking sunglasses too.

Spush: Check out the first post.

Rambo: The only kit that I'm considering not giving a helmet is the Sniper kit. Got some special gear to make the SpecOps kit look speshul. ;)

Grinch: Do you feel that the ESS Ice glasses have are significantly different than the Sawfly glasses that I've already modeled?

ReadMenace. Those goggles look cool as ESS Ice glasses.

As for spec ops kit, maybe use Mich/IBH helmet or Tan cap but with operator style headset. Like Finnish Peltor, like you show in couple pics.

I would like to see Ciras or RRV style vest. As those are most used by SF and other same kinda units. Also I see dump bag where empty mags can but in are seen too, usually behind the vest on the belt level.

M4 with AN/PEQ2, Eotech and front grip are shown in many pics, but it must look more special than normal army M4 carbine, but now days I see Army use same material as special units.

I could try to model somekinda SF M4 for you if you want, I mean I can try. Either way Im going to start modelling Spec Ops guy to own purposes.

Hope I can work with you.

Hmm. I'm wondering how well the body parts will work as they wont be "skinnedmesh" (dynamic model so it fits the player model when he moves around)..

Helmet should be pretty straight forward though. Would you mind PMing me a .obj or .3ds file of the helmet? I'll do a quick import without any textures or optimizations.

Yeah, I've been wondering about that issue myself, but had no idea how it worked. Is it possible to make them 'skinned meshes'? The .OBJ should be in your inbox.

Grinch- Why don't you try your hand at a SOPMOD M4.
