A few months ago we tested the star streak, and its really good against fixed wing, but at a much closer range.

You mean IRL or in game? IRL it should be good against low, close fixed wing aircraft as long as you keep them in your sight. In game though, jets come and go before the AA has a chance to lock.

No it works but like everything else it works better when the view distance is increased.
