I'm pretty sure that the Type-74 flamethrower is a Chinese built version of the Russian LPO-50. Apparently the Chinese anti-terrorist force, which is involved with the Olympics, is using them (Source: Anti-Terrorism Exercises in China - The Big Picture - Boston.com). It also appears that they are using segways.

I gathered some information from this website (STMMain). It seems as though the weapon has three "compression charges" (which push the flammable liquid out of each tank) and three "pyrotechnic charges" (which ignite the flammable liquid). The weapon has a 4 position trigger group with one setting for safe and one for each tank/"pyrotechnic charge". The sights are apparently graduated for 35 and 70m. It looks like the recoil on the thing is beast.

"Compression charge"

"Pyrotechnic charges"

Trigger

Rear sights

according to here the Type-74 is a derivative of the Russian LPO-50. It has been improved, so it has less weight and better range. This weapon is used by China, Vietnam, and various Chinese export customers, such as Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and Albania. so wereas the LPO had a maximum range of 70M the Type-74 is 105

also if you look at the second vid i posted it shows recruits trying to control the flamethrower spraying water while standing up with interesting results

oh and machinegun armed police firing from moving segways = EPIC WIN, devs should consider them as well

Why was the M82 Barret pickup kit taken out of game? I heard "abuse". Whatever that "abuse" may be, I'm sure the flamethrowere will get 10 times worse. >>

as you've all said it's not being used due to the geneva convention and there fore US and GB dont use them, BUT why not let china have them? they, i do not believe, signed the geneva convention and as seen in the provided video their troops are still atleast trained to use them. and for that matter whats from stopping insurgents or malitia from using them? either way i think this would add really well for the chinese, and malitia factions, great for clearing out bunkers and caves, trenches?

you know what hell yeah give flame throwers to insurgents on Korengal, let them trap brits in the caves then seal off both ways in/out with fire and burn them to death!

Pfff flame-throwers are so WW1/2.
Get yourself a RPO-A or FLASH launcher, all the fun of a flame-thrower in convenient rocket launcher form.

Ohhh and the US didn't sign the latest version of the Geneva convention in the 1970s which says no to nasty weapons like flame-throwers and phosphorous, UK and the rest of the Western countries did though.

No, the UK (and the rest) signed a treaty saying they wouldn't use nasty things like flamethrowers and WP in areas where there are civilians, actually. Signatorys can burn down military bases all day long, provided there is no "concertration of civilians" about.
