Do we NEED to install this by the way when it comes out? For example if it causes more problems then it fixes and only adds stuff like widescreen support, will PR need to integrate the new BF2 patch because of any of the user agreements etc?

=D You know what that means for you guys who have been begging for fastropes? DO YOU?!?!

^_^ It means... I could hopefully use a bluetooth headset AND split my voip sound from the ingame sound... ^_^

PS: I say bluetooth headset cause my USB headset kind of caught on fire... while i was using it ._. which i can't explain XD

No, you will only need to install the patch if you wish to play vBF2 1.5. If you don't, your best course of action is to hold off installing the patch.

The Dev team will then take the patch, look at it, install it onto BF2 and see how it effects PR. Then, they'll work out what it breaks, create a hotfix patch for any issues, and release it to the community - this could take some time.

Once the hotfix is out, it'll be safe to upgrade your copy of BF2 up to 1.5 and then install the updated version of PR over the top to gain the advantages of the 1.5 patch and a working install of PR.

I'm not gonna install anyway because vanilla sucks always. Even with a new patch it's boring.

I don't know what to believe but I just googled it and on a battlefield site, some president of EA BF series or someone like that officially announced that a new patch was under development.

I'll try and find a link, give us a sec.

EDIT: Here it is for ya's. From June I think.EA - ::Battlefield Franchise::

Except you'll eventually have to.

vBF2 is the base for all of the mods, including PR ;)

They have confirmed they are, unlikely but true. There was a recent 2142 patch that gave it widescreen support for example

I hope they change free look to work with the other controls so we can use trackIR while using vehicles, something small like that would make a big difference

No where i just think that. I mean if they make a patch that will only cause more bugs and glitches then there would be crying for a new one to fix those bugs and glitches. So i guess they will make one that fixes things but don't break things.

But if the patch sucks and causes some problems, then the PR teams doesn't HAVE to be compatible. Basically do you have to keep up with the most recent patch to keep everything legal.

I'll believe it when I see it. Something tells me it won't be much of a patch, after all this time. Who knows though.

I dont expect to see the patch until after BF hero's. Looking forward to it though, wish they would give us some information about what they intend to do.

If there only wouldn't be an unofficial program for a true widescreen for quite a long time already.

It's rather shocking that it took so long for EA to catch up...

Yup, hopefully they've checked out some of the MODs that contribute toward people still playing their game, and see what they need out of it too. To be honest, the obvious example of 128 players would get alot of people buying those spare copies they must have lying around. As rich as EA are though, even some of the biggest businesses demonstrate very little business sense sometimes.

Yea i wish the french mod Stargate La releve had realised this because they have finished their mod but wont release untill the ea patch is out, how stupid is that?
And i cant have a go at there stupidity because you cant sign up to the forum unless you can speak french!!!!!!!!!! *serious hate brewing*
