Practice makes perfect.
What's needed is a toggle on-off stabiliser.

It's getting kinda tiring that people are making suggestions that they saw in ArmA, that game is blessed with a good engine. Project reality makes do(very well I'd say) with the BF2 engine. So unless the head guy at EA all of a sudden has a mental breakdown and gives the BF2 mods access to the entire engine, just be grateful for what PR offers.

it isnt as hard as it should be realistically but it certainly isn't too easy i must say. it's simple enough for me a few nights ago to fly for the first time, in the cow, since 0.75 and i can do it just fine. initial take off and flight was a bit unsteady but it only took a minute to get used to.[R-DEV]Outlawz wrote:It's already too easy, I fly like once in two months on PR and can still perfectly hover and do tons of random tricks and I only use my keyboard+mouse.
but its complicated enough that it takes a bit of skill. to be perfectly fair though i've been a master of keyboard only flight since bf1942, most of it's mods and the rest of the BF franchise. Reaction time must be fast and quick decision making is a must. flying these choppers if you tilt unexpectedly you need to correct fast, rudder the wrong way for even a split second and you're dead. over correction is all but too common if you don't have sensitive fingers.
Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

I believe that since this is like the third time seeing this suggestion that many people deem it hard to hover. and from personal option they are right for some people. give them the option fr those who need it. I have been on many maps where the pilot tries to hover by inclines to let passengers off but end up crashing it into soldiers or terrain.

This. With some practice i stabilised apache and havoc completely (just had to throttle up every minute or so).[R-DEV]Outlawz wrote:It's already too easy, I fly like once in two months on PR and can still perfectly hover and do tons of random tricks and I only use my keyboard+mouse.

hmmm i dont understand why everyone is having such problems with hovering?ChizNizzle wrote:This. With some practice i stabilised apache and havoc completely (just had to throttle up every minute or so).
its one of the easiest things imo. its all the same in every chopper, just get the pitch ladder in one line with the lower end of the HUD crosshair and wow, hover....
