what? have you never seen people digging fox holes while lying down, digging is fine prone it's just the building part thats unrealistic

And increase the number of players needed to construct a bunker/firebase.
It takes 1 to set a firebase in 1-2 minutes. By increasing the number it would reduce the number of bunkers/firebases we see all over the map, in lame spots.

Some people just build for the sake of... building something.

What would make it real is if all the materials, exact number of sand bags, wood planks for the floor, and wood for the roof were all laying in a pile and the player can pick up the component and take it to the build area and have put it in its spot. I agree. And it already takes a long time to build a firebase/bunker, so why make it even harder by being exposed for half the time? Even the best squad with teamwork will not be able to cover the builders from snipers, and snipers/marksman don't need anymore of a leg up against troops.

It already takes an eternity to build one with two troops, let alone one, so why make it even more complicated?

^^^^^If you were building something in real life and there were mortars or bullets coming at you, would you really just crouch there with no cover or go prone?

What he's saying is, that there is a code to allow weapons to be fired only in prone, but not to fire it in everything BUT prone.

Though he and myself were wrong, i forgot that the HAT is indeed not usable in prone position. Actually, this is very interesting and could be something that might be used with some other weapons too, having two versions, one for standing one for prone, to avoid pronespam (not the usual rifles, but maybe some heavier weapons. They did it to the LMG's already, but sniper and marksman rifles could get a similiar thing to, having two weapons for the different stances. Or maybe not, since the kits in PR are quite full. But if anyone was to make a CQB mod, they might consider it.)

It can be hard enough to get pubbers to build as a commander as is. Lets not complicate the process any more.


On that note, give players more points bonuses for digging to encourage people to whip out their shovels

Aside: The code does exist, as the HAT kits cannot be fired from a prone position. And I also agree with the realism of it.

People do on the HOG server since we have server tracker that keeps a global score we are always jockeying for points.

Still, can you max the "deviation" of the shovel so you just dont hit the bunker? Or would that be impossible due to a limit in angle (screen size)?

How's the SRAW and Erxy work then? Is that just a deviation thing? I've never actually tried to fire it in prone due to the sight telling me I haven't a hope in hell of hitting anything

Well there is no code that doesnt allow a weapon to be fired in everystance but prone. The hat is done is by deviation.

There is no code that makes a gun shoot in every stance from all of the code i have looked though And thats alot.
