That's exactly the whole beauty of it. It goes with PRMM very well because someone new to this mod will have many moments of idiocracy untill one of the regular PRMM players give the guy some pointers or he eventually figures it out.
And I don't find it derogatory or elietest, because basicly its just like any other word, if you don't use it in a derogatory mannor then its not a harsh word.
If I say my mates a n*gg*r - does that detract from the fact it's a negative word even though it's semi factual. It's still painting what are affectively "novices" at PRMM in a negative light.
Well those reasons are not them being a muppet, thats just the mod. Now if some "muppet" jumps in a PRMM server and throws C-4 all over a DPV and drives up a tanks tailpipe and lets 'er rip and get's pissed off that he died and the tank is tooling along still wasting his comrads. thats when you can call him a muppet, then advise him that those tactics are valid no longer. 
Once someone realises that PRMM is not vBF2 then I think the muppet term would not apply anymore. Its similar to being a maggot in the Marines, sure it sucks but when you get good enough and learn what you have to, then your no longer a maggot.
