simpal, in normal BF2 no 1 uses the APCs for there real puropuse. ITs like a light tank for most ppl. In PRMM its used much more as a APC thou. But the LAV is now somtimes used as a super light tank with its 2x TOW missles

i like the idea of a whole squad fitting in one, and i think if you make the blackhawk/seahawk as 2 vehicles instead of one it could work. like make the front of the (the pilots seat and gunners seats) one vehicle, and the back one.

ooh i like that idea we could have co pilots for the black hawks then and we could limit the flying to the pilot classes.

I would love the idea of 9 person blackhawk.

And I think if it could be done, it should be.

The excuse 'no one would want to get in, its a deathtrap' is bs. You design maps exclusively so the blackhawk wont be able to be taken out easily, so you can fly through valleys, etc.

Also, a blackhawk with no miniguns would be great as well.

Yea, have a class that can fly the blackhawk so we have the expierenced pilots shuttle players around and also, if it can be done, the LAV needs to have more spots for players. At least 6 for a whole squad, but 8 wouldn't hurt if it was possible. And while we are on the subject, maybe tanks should at least have a crew of 2 people so one cna drive and the other one gun? Now that would be realism, but it would take a lot of teamwork in order to pull those kinds of things off. As a result though, you would get more teamwork out of it since the players will not be able to vehicle spam things and actually take better care with them and rely on squad mates.

My dream is of a 9 spot BlackHawk with a full load and a competent pilot that when it approaches the target rakes it with minigun fire and then the pilot sets the crew down outside of the target area, the crew rushes in and then takes the area, while this is happening the ground force is communicating with the chopper and the chopper is flying overhead giving support. Then the ground force lays out smoke grenades as a marker for extraction and the chopper picks them and they fly out to the next objective assigned by the commander.

This my idea of heaven.

fuzzhead, we need the miniguns! It'd be so ****ing sweet to blast away at enemy infantry trying to clear the LZ for Charlie squad.

A Blackhawk with no miniguns = bigger Littlebird

And the little bird gets ****ed in most combat situations, all the people sitting on the edges try and shoot ground forces but get blown away in the end. Black hawk needs weaponry. fo sure!

There are Blackhawk versions with M60's mounted on them. Why not try that. Its a weapon with a slower ROF but with more damage per round.

No it isn't. The M60D and M240D fire the same 7.62mm NATO round as the M134 miniguns.

Yea, the littlebird can rely on its superior manouverability so the Hawk does need mounted weapons

I used to play a game called Joint Operations, you could have a pilot, co-pilot, 2 mini gunners, and 6 attachable spots. Then you could fill the middle of the BH with people. I remember sticking 20 guys in those lol. In BF2 if you a good pilot you will get to a height og about 100m and have close air support, you have no problem. The problem in BF2 is that there isnt enough transport. All maps should have 4 transport helos if not more. The 1 blackhawk sucks because one a fireteam lands and has to fight off 30 guys.

The thing I hate is that there are no animations with entering exiting vehicles. The LAVs doors are in the back. I would love to see a tank whore try getting in a tank when im standing 30 ft away.

Anyone played Joint Ops: Reality? Good mod!

Blackhawk needs 9 spaces, IMO

Yes, I do remember JO:R. Man, had some good times with that one, especially one time when I worked with someone as a sniper / spotter combo. He would have the range finder (Laser Designator) and tell me the distance, and I would...you know. *BANG*.

Now, I completely agree with the Blackhawk having 9 spaces.

You should have 3 crew (1 pilot, 2 gunners) and enough room
left over for an entire [BF2-style] squad.
