Like I said, EOD for [R-CON], though it might've been missed under the arabic pepsi/coke etc cancs.

wouldn't it already be armed though? just the arm in the can stopping it, the pin wouldn't be in (unlike the pic) I don't think

Correct the safty pin should be out before placing into can -- the person walks and the rope get out our nade from can and then BOOM !!!

I don't like this idea. As said before, it would simply be too much like a Vbf2 claymore. People would just be putting them on top of ladders and by caches every time they spawned. I personally like the idea of a detonated claymore system they had back in the old days of PR and so I would just recommend sticking with the IED to get these kind of kills.

limit them to 1 per soldier who has them in their kit and they wont be spammed like claymores in vBF2. Should also keep them live until respawn timer reaches 0 imo.
People would use 1 of these carefully, I wouldn't be wasting mine by putting it above a ladder, you will only get one kill with it that way.
I also wouldn't put it by a chache as killing the enemy would probably also take out my own cache.
Strategic positioning ftw.

couldn't terrorists/ins' make use of bouncing betty type AP mines? I loved them in BF:V

SHHH!!!! You're not supposed to say that part, now everyone can go out and make these. Oh well, let's hope no terrorists use PR as a training simulator.
And yes, it uses the same collision.
Also, I'm hoping to have this replace the Ambusher's grenade or to be part of some "Super Ambusher" kit that has tons of stuff to make the perfect ambush and/or trap. Last, players will only get 1.
Sound good?

I've not tried knifing the trip flare's wire...
Would it be possible to make it disarm when someone stabs the string? Needing a wrench seems a bit too speacialist for such a crude device.

Actually, this "crude" device is rather touchy. Only a qualified engineer or EOD tech should handle disarm any explosive device in the field. Like I said before, you'll be able to destroy it with a grenade.
Any comments on the texture yet? Anyone?

The pin controls the fuse on a grenade, the handle just keeps it from blowing up in your hand, unless you decide it let go and let it sit in your hand. People will often pull the pin on a grenade and hold the spoon on to "cook off" the grenade so it doesn't get thrown back at them.

Hard to comment on the texture since you haven't posted a pic of it on the model. Take a pic in the 3d software that you use or in bf2editor if you can't get it to show in game.
Just the texture file doesn't really tell that much.

That bit is incorrect. The spoon in fact controls the fuse. The pin is a small metal safety that keeps the spoon in place for transport and general 'NOT BLOW YOURSELF TO SHIT'ness. If you remove the pin on a grenade you can easily (Well kinda) replace it and it will make the grenade 'safe'.
It is much like the safety on a firearm. As long as the pin is removed and the spoon locked down it is impossible for the fuse to ignite as the primer is set off by the spoon and striker it controls.
So it would have a delay. What would happen is the spoon would be held into the grenade via the can and when it trips and slides out the spoon would via the striker pop off and set off the fuse.
Cooking off a grenade is the act of releasing the spoon and thus starting the fuse then throwing the grenade at a (SHORT!) later time. Its why in BF2 when you hold the right click and have pulled pin out the grenade still has the same delay as usual because the spoon isn't released till the grenade itself is thrown.

Ok Tupla, by the way, nice job with R-CON.
Whatever you say cheesy, that's rather contrary to everything I've ever heard. I don't even know if I can delay the explosion with the tweak, I'll look tomorrow. I'm going to sleep now.

He's right about it, the spoon controls the striker, its like a mouse trap under the spoon. As long as the spoon is held down the mouse trap doesn't go off, thus the fuse isn't ignited, this the grenade still isn't your friend since the pin is out!

HowStuffWorks "How Grenades Work"
Note in the diagram that the pin is literally what it is. Its a small metal pin and the striker is really held up by the spoon. If you remove the pin and hold the spoon down the striker in the middle is unable to drop.
Contrary to popular belief the pin on a grenade is rather hard to pull out. For safety reasons of course so they don't go live while your crawling with them and snag them on a tree. Simply tying a piece of string to the pin then placing it in the small can would most likely not provide weight to allow a person tripping it to set it off. However..
If you put a pinless grenade in a small can, It would in fact hold the spoon down which would in turn keep the grenade from going live. However when the person knocks over the can and the grenade slips out? The spoon pops free and you have yourself a very easy to lay trap.

other way to do it its small metal cable - you tie one end to the tree and other one you insert in to granades safety pin place - this way you can provide that persoan wont even pay attention that the nade is live now when the other variants of nade trap like pulling the safety pin by rout or pulling the whole nade from can request more effort from victim to get this nade life and probably he will pay attention
