2 or maybe 3 of my deaths where from that hehe, in the screen above was one of them since I had to land the plane pronto before I died so I did just bail out after coming in so fast hehe, other times I thought I was coming in a lot slower than I really was and had lost too much speed before I realized it
I still managed to get a + k/d ratio even with killing myself a few times on landing hehe.

I landed the J-10 for the first time and probably only time ever yesterday with 1m to spare.

The J10 in 0.8 are so much easier to land! but last version it was suicide for most

i would say one of the hardest planes to land is the f-16 it takes a lot of practice.

naah.. The hardest plane to land must be the SU-30!! i dont know how to land it... -.- someone got a recipe??
I came in at 35% throttle, and I was holding the stick all the way back to maintain approach. When you saw the plane tip forward, it was because I released back pressure. I reversed the throttle just after I passed the treeline.
And although the recording cuts off short, I stopped with about 50m to spare.
I tried the flare approach, I just sailed into the fence at the other end before I even touched the runway, so I think my approach to landing is easier.

Here's something I just learned while practicing landings with the different planes for you people who happen to land a little sideways on the runway: Remember, the controls for steering are reversed when taxiing backwards, the same applys when slowing down after a landing, you steer right, you go left, not fun if you don't remember this.
Revision: Some are reversed some are not, so keep your eyes open.

^exactly what I'm getting at, even with forward momentum, some planes like to reverse their steering when taxiing backwards.

i use to land the J-10 in .7, i used to power down the second i got above the runway, with any luck you stall and slam into the runway, (usually causing the front wheel to sink into the runway) then you eith blow up or can bail out and it will be a bit damaged but usable

I just come in slow and low, and use throttle to adjust my height (not joystick).
Re: [HOWTO]Land all the jets: HARRIER (Vertically)
I spent about a day learning how to do it and can actually fly into the staging area with accuracy. I hope to have a vid on xfire of it soon. I will add the link when avail.

Ya, I would like to know that as well, how do you land this thing at Quinling without emergency bail out or running off into the grass before the fence ?

[R-DEV]Drav wrote:Real planes glide very nicely on approach. These dont. Likewise diving in PR doesent increase your speed much at all, so the general idea is to come in high and slow, dive in to the runway and cut throttle.
That is probably the thing I need to do on a battle server. While I am able to land a plane when initiating the landing procedure from A1/A2 grid in Kashan allmost everytime, I only managed it once to make a crazy dive-landing from A6 from a altitude of approximatly 1300. Even with a perfect touchdown on the beginning of the runway, I was so fast that I allmost hit the runway.
What is the best way to dive-land? Also, is it possible to do that from A8, the friendly side of the map?

Hey looking for a practical way to land a j-10?:
SU-30 landing, action starts around at 30-40 seconds, landing at 0130(note that i start throttling back to %0 at 1.30 and dont throttle up ever after that,so plan really ahead when landing su-30)
Hope helps...

good thread
if you are no0b pilot
just ppl who dont know to land make local server and land several(50-60) times
