The extended version is up
This, too, was uploaded in 1280x720 HD. You have to visit the Vimeo page to see it in HD.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Re: Proper Helicopter Insertion and Extraction Procedures
Excellent video, I just wish people who played the game could be forced to watch it. Basically whenever possible I fly transport, just because it's what I love to do in the game. More often than not, I get people who just say "hey pilot I need extraction," as if that helps me in any way. Or my favorite, people who just get in the helicopter and say nothing except "GO GO GO."
Unless you fly transport, you really don't know what kinda **** we go through. It's a very frustrating thing, but when it's done well and people don't try and make you land on the sides of mountains to pick them up, and they give you coordinates and smoke too, it's very rewarding.

Wow great video! The 5 minutes added on to the end for the credits seems a bit too long but the format for extractions/insertions is great. Wish everyone did it that way, makes us pilot's jobs easy.

Inspiring and makes me proud to transport people. That and the epic "Ride of the Valkyries" feel about it.

Nice video. I don't fly but I do request LZ's occasionally and will keep your tips in mind.

Re: Proper Helicopter Insertion and Extraction Procedures
Some say im quite good as a transport pilot and here are some generic information:
You should be able to land anywhere, it's the taking off after landing that's hard
I would not land anywhere where the slope is more than 45decree, after that you might collide with opposite slope when getting up.
Easy trick when getting off the ground in uneven terrain is to align your copper the way that your chopper will move forward when taking off, it's just the most safest way.
I would mutch rather hear "need pickup at s4 location" instead coordinates or smokes. I watch my map constantly about every 3-4 sec and will know where the SL is without smokes.
Most of transporting is still watching map at the helipad and asking if people want to build firebases or go somewhere so you basically know where everyone is anyway.
When using Littlebird searching for lonely people in the outskirts can really be benefitial as nothing is more boring that walking great distances and thinking the pilot wanted to give you a lift will make them asking you by name next time

On difficult chopper maps such as barracuda pilots need to rely to each other where its too hot to approach land etc..

Re: Proper Helicopter Insertion and Extraction Procedures
Well, I am delighted that everyone liked the video so much. I was expecting nowhere near the response that I got, and as such, I decided that I will make another.
The topic of the next video is still up in the air. I am thinking something along the lines of "Lasing, Target Designation, and CAS," showing players the proper method of lasing targets, explaining how it all works (from a BF2 engine standpoint, and A10/Attack Heli Gunner/Other SOFLAM views), what not to do (lase a target a second time CAS is coming down, lase friendlies), how to screw up enemy lases, marking targets with smoke, the process of getting CAS, the works.
I actually do not have any other ideas right now, so I am open to suggestions. Please, feel free to PM me with your suggestions.
Oh, maybe how to do proper insurgent ambushes. Civilian spotter/bait, IED placement, cover/concealment, arr. Maybe.
