For realism sakes. Take off planes, because you won't be fighting with an airfield several hundread meters behind your back.

[Sarcasm]

Anyhow. The USAF and USMC, altohugh different branches; support each other. For the most part the USAF and USN simply support ground forces within the Army and Marines.

Haven't you ever read Generation Kill? An A-10 Warthog was providing CAS for a bunch of marines in AAV's.

So now we can't have two different branches on one map, or two branches stationed at one airfield (Camp Rhino in Afghanistan, etc). I really don't think it's a problem to have one A-10 on a map with tons of marines

There is NO USAF team in PR just US Navy Marine core!

I dont care anymore to be honest.

I really like vehicles and aircraft. The team has put in a lot of time and effort modeling and texturing aircraft so I think it would be safe to assume that we will not be removing them from the mod. ;)

It can be implied that since there is an F-15E in game, it can be said that the Air Force is actually within BF2 and PR doing what they do best, air superiority and bombing the **** out of enemies :) .
'Pence' wrote:I am confuzed, the USMC is a seperate group under control of the navy so the A-10 ultimately cannot be implemented if this mod is to retain realisum.
Yes they are a seperate branch, but that doesnt mean no other branch can aid each other. The Air Force achieves air superiorty and takes care of most of the bombing missions, and also provides CAS for our troops on the ground. This is how the US military and im sure the British military work, having all the branches work together. USN, USMC, USAF and the US army are all one joint force.

They wouldn't be a freakin' team, they'd just have one plan for close air support

And it's "corps"

Problem is there's a restriction on the number of slots a ground vehicle can have to carry people.

Put another vehicle in the vehicle to add more slots

I agree. I think the US should get some more new stuff. I was thinking the same thing when I was browsing through the 'media' section. It seems that most of the items under the US section are really pretty universal items.

However, nothing is set in stone yet. Until .3 comes out, there is time to work and get stuff done. It's up to the Project Leads to iron this out and decide what gets implemented. In any case, the mod will be awesome. :)

Weren't we complaining earlier how the max fire rate in BF2 is 1,000? If so, can't you just adjust the sounds, animation, tracers, and damage for the minigun so it looks and sounds like it's firing at 6,000 RPM?

I've heard PR is modelling the UK forces, but what are they doing as far as the US is concerned? AFAIK the USMC does not operate any UH-60s or A/MH-6s...

by Cerberus
Yeah, it's odd that they're using the MH-6 despite its lack of usage by the United States Marine Corps

In the media section, there's an MH-53J, so now the Marines don't have to use a damn Seahawk and will actually be able to use a helo they use in abundance.

Maybe we could have some U.S. Army maps (would have to make new skins and models for their new uniforms, and most of 'em would probably carry M4's (because if they're using the MH-6, they're probably special operations forces)) so we could use the MH-6 and UH-60 more realistically. I'm sure the devs could alter the skin of the WAH-64 so that it looks like an AH-64D, as well
