Hopefully you weaken the Support class. Lets face it if you are going for realism (which you keep saying the SAW represents in this case) it just unbalances other areas of realism.

Is it real to see a team of 10 have 6 Saws? And is it realistic to have instant prone accuracy. And then the body armour thing gets me too. If you are going to be make everything realistic, then every Frontline soldier should gets issued with armour!!!!!!!!

Another thing would be the stock map changes for vehicles times etc, and perhaps giving the AT guy a SMG.

Isn't the M249 supposed to have the power of 15-20 riflemen?

Anyway, I hate how people just whore the support weapons

Also, it would be nice if you couldn't aim for a second or two after you hit the ground when going prone. I was waiting for some guy to come along and expose himself some more, and he saw me, bellyflopped onto the ground, and right as he hit it, he opened fir and killed me

im pretty sure PR has the support issues under control for the next release, i only say this because it has been a great concern of the community, so im sure they have had time to fix it.

DICE and EA = worst duo ever

Didn't they say there'd be a destructible environment, as well

I have a feeling that all the things d(EA)ice promised us in the beginning will show up in expansions and boosters later on.....

when i think of EA and Dice i think about politicians, they promise us all these new and exciting things... then we find out.... oh they cant do this, or itll be awhile before we get this. its terrible. im really saddened by all the broken promises they make i didnt start getting into the BF series until BFV which was made by a different... uhh, designer? or something i know one of you guys will know =) . but has the franchise always been this bad?

they only have 1 more "booster pack" planed for BF2, and that dont say anything about this.

But nightvision was ment to be in vBF2 but did turn out to be in BF2:SF, I wonder why they didnt include it

If you have fixed/working on the Support class issue, then I would easily play this game 24/7 (if my schedule allowed :D )

I didn't mind it at first, but the other night, every corner I turned, I ran into groups of SAW whoring merchants. You can put three rounds into them, but by the time you've done that, they've turned round, dropped prone and have released a whole mag before they've even hit the ground. I have no doubt that the SAW is that powerful and accurate in real life, but this is a game, and its a pretty limited engine.

The Mod will run into a brick wall if you make certain things realistic and others not

Really looking foward to .3 :D

Hey Gents,

We definitely won't have everything fixed for 0.3, nor will we have all the features people have been asking for (including ourselves hehe) ... but there is a lot of stuff in the 0.3 release.

Amongst other things, we've made some changes to the classes to try and address the support and other class balance and/or realism issues. However... at the root of the problem is the lack of a class limiting system in BF2.

Just so we don't dissapoint... we will not have a class limiting system for 0.3.

We're working on one, but it won't be ready until a future release. It's clearly a critical aspect of a "realism" mod, but we have to make sure we get it right.

I won't get into what's changed in 0.3 because I don't want to spill the beans or create any expectations that we can't meet due to bugs or stuff not getting completed.

I will say that we released a build to testers about 2 weeks ago... that was 0.301. We've been working away on more features and will be releasing 0.302 to testers shortly. There will be at least a 0.303 and possibly a 0.304 released to testers before we add in all the features and stomp out all the bugs (whatever the last release is in the dev cycle will just be bugfixes to stuff added in previous releases in the 0.3xx cycle).

We're also trying to move to a more "predictable" release schedule. By that I mean there will be a relatively fixed amount of time in between releases and the player base will know when to expect another release. The DC guys from BF42 got onto a 45 day release rhythm. I dunno if we can get there right away, but we're trying :)

While sh*t can always happen .. and often does .. you can expect that 0.3 will be released in the last half of April.

thanks eggman for keeping us updated but still maintaining your "keeping us in the dark =) )

im sure everyone can agree its nice knowing whats going on, even if we dont really know whats going on. knowing that you guys are hard at work, and giving us a general idea of when to perk up for the release just makes the wait go by a little bit faster =)
