Hopefully. It'd be pretty nice having a sniper deep behind inside enemy territory doing reconnaissance

i would like to see dedicated sniper kits as pickups, because, lets face it we do NOT want alot of these guys running around! i think there should be 2 on 64 player maps and 1 on a 32 player map. because as cerberus said, they are awwwwsome for spotting stuff.

and i love the idea of a spotting scope =)

and i love the idea of designated marksman with an m-21, but if possible id love even more a SOCOM II, mmm maybe for recon kind of kit.

right now im happy with the stoner SR-25 that the PR team is working on, but i think id be more happy with an M-21 ;) . maybe eventually you could choose between the two weapons.
and yeah, M-14s pack a much mightier punch then an M-16!

and on a fantasy note, how awsome would it be to have a sniper with an M-40 and a spotter with the SR-25 working together!

The M40A3 should have been put in vBF2 in the first place because that's what scout snipers mainly use

maybe you could make it spawn as a vehicle that when you use it it just gives you a PR custom vehicle with just a turret cannon on it with specs that would be akin to a rifle, and you can walk around with it but the game would think you are driving a vehicle with manuveurability specs like regular walking, maybe even afterburners so you can sprint

We're currently working on getting the kit to be able to be picked up much like any other kit. Further updates will confirm whether this is a distinct possibility. :)

I like the idea of a sniper kit on the map - so you can spawn as a marksman, but if you want that individual kit - the lone wolf, stealth type, you can go for it. Maybe it should have the M95, or some other high damage, single shot weapon, used in the field but only rarely.

i'm supprised we havn't seen a harry potter mod yet.

Now you've said it, some boared French man is going to make a mod for it.

Also, whoever mentioned the M40a1, you deserve a medal.
I was waiting to see who would pick up on that. Replace the M24!

M40 has been the marine sniper weapon for year's.

Another thing PRM should do, replace the M24 with this bad boy for the Scout Sniper Kit.

^ Yea I thought that was kinda of retarded ^

As for SDM's, the reason they are so common is because you have more guys using a scoped weapon. It's nice to have SDM's, but engagements aren't out past 300 meters anymore. So there really is no use for them.

Maybe with the sniper class, we could give him another weapon, and fewer rounds with his M24.

I had suggested a spotting scope instead of bincoulars.

I mentioned the M40A3, does that count?

I think the M40 and all variants are the scout sniper rifles, IIRV

as far as I heard, isnt the US Army replacing all M40s and variants and going for something newer (and obviously better)?
