Other than blowing bridges which is a teamwork tactic, SpecOps kit just encourages a bunch of lone wolfing.

but I think theres reasons for that, and sometimes its not lonewolfing even if the person is by himself.

1) most people in spec ops squads travel in 2s, the rationale being that its less likely they will be spotted, but this means they don't get an officer, and officers are great for spec ops squads (another soflam, and could free up a spec ops kit to be something else, e.g. rifleman to resupply the other spec ops, or a medic to help keep spec ops alive) and also allows the spec ops squad to more easily transfer over in to conventional duties by spawning at a rally point. If more spec ops squads bring a officer with them, they will perform better and with more teamwork.

2) say, a spec ops guy is by himself, in his own squad, he might actually be doing alot for your team by dedicated himself to being the commander's eyes instead of being the omgwtfpwnzor that people think the spec ops is.

lone-wolfing isn't acceptable in PR tbh, but the spec ops kit ALWAYS has a use, and in certain tactics is complemented by and complements other kits.

e.g. Ambushes behind enemy lines, Spec ops alone = one ambush, spec ops with rifleman = maybe 2 more thnks to ammo, spec ops with engineer = more options with the use of mines, and possibly ammo from engineer car. with officer, the options increase many more, bring riflemen and they can get other kits and drop their ammo, allowing you to create a roadblock.

the spec ops kit is the most creative kit ingame as it has so many uses, beit alone or with a squad the spec ops kit can benefit your team. Lone wolfing is not defined by traveling alone imo.

Spec-Ops needs other Spec-Ops classes to join him. But then again, if the mission can be done with one person why not do it with one person? You've only got 32 players on your side.

people who don't use the spec ops kit right are doing it wrong, which is pretty much everyone on a pub servers.

The grappling hook and the full auto M4 are incredibly useful as a point man for room clearing on urban maps. It would be a real shame for it to be removed because some pub players are ignorant to its real usefulness.

Your idea about how the kit should be used doesnt have to be the only right one. Just as the sniper kit. Some people like to carefully pick their targets and mostly use the kit to scout with. I usually get to a good position, tell the commander (if there is one) what i see and then start engaging everything i see. After 5-10 kills people start getting pissed off and i bugger off to a new spot.

The more people there are looking for you in the wrong place the better for the rest of the team.

yea and thats the correct way ^^ most people get the kit for kills and cause the rifle is cool with no thought to the team. the wrong way.

But getting kills DOES help your team. You are taking away tickets from them, and you are forcing them to come looking for you thus taking away enemies from the fight.

When you take the marksman or the grenadier kit, dont you take it so you can kill more people faster and easier? Does that make you a selfish prick that only wants to kill people and not help your team?

Stop calling people lonewolfs or "l33tPWZORS!11!1" just because they want to actually use the rifle for what it was made for. Shooting enemies from long range with high presition.

i remember having 3 sp kits on the brit team, but one was a chinese kit =P we snuck into china main and blew all assests and takes, and i think thats what it made for, being sneaky hiding in the tower while having a person throw a hock down the ladder after u place a slam on the asset and run, while the 3rd watches the door, and the on ewith the hook covers you both ways

1) guy gets SF kit, kills 5 people

2) guy gets SF kit, spots enemy positions for SL/commander/aircraft

3) guy gets SF kit, ambushes enemy assets coming out of their main (or in their main if its that kind of server)

etc

the point is that the SF is the best at 2 and 3, any1 can do 1.

I think thats what Gazz was driving at

^^I was mostly talking about the sniper kit :) You should not actively engage people with the Specops kit. That will most likely get you killed.

It is quite useful I've found out. I've seen some people rope over a wall, behind the enemies, kill 3-4 of them with the silenced pistol before they know what hit them, take out their firebase/rally, then sneak out, while my squad was directly attacking them. The explosives are fun to me, sneak up to an enemy chopper, put a slam on it, estimate how far it will get before it explodes, or put slams all over enemy vehicles, then watch them drive off into the distance, then explode.

well, why use spec ops kit ?? don't see any need for it. if you are just drawing fire, then use a base kit... and spec ops have a 1337wtfbbqz rep for a reason, people know they are not used properly.

Anybody can do any of those on the list.

Rifleman kills five people.
Rifleman spots assets and planes.
Rifleman ambushes vehicles (light armored ones).
