Is there any known bugs with this weapon? All sniper rifles are zero'd at 600 metres right? So in theory I should aim a little lower at closer ranges? Well, I had the same result as above but shooting the same guy in the chest too (when I did that he just ran away)

Someone mentioned something about running at different resolutions. I run at 1680X1050 - could that be it? A widescreen problem or something?
I'm on a 19' monitor on 1280 x 1024 and I can't hit anything, I can only get lucky shots off. (Or maybe I just need more practice :? :)

I know this Enfield! It was in the hands of the guy who got shot by jidam, then this rifle was berryd in the mud for 3 years and then the PR developer found it, streched it and put it into game! One time the deviation was so huge that I shot the guy behind me!

I personally think that rocks are way more effective because no deviation :D

Maybe I'll run at 1024x768 from now on then... even though that looks terrible on a 22" widescreen :(

p.s I won't play on a server if I have more than a 100/150 ping to it (normally play with between an 8 and 50 ping) and i've done exactly what's in the above video and waited even longer before taking shots

I use a 1280 x 800 Laptop, but the highest resolution available in the menue is 1024 x 768. Is there any way to use the full screen resolution? Because now everything looks kinda out of proportion.

Your picture will be warped.

^I tried this last night and It did work. I missed two shots (One due to moving as he was a threat and I think I waited to long for the last guy) It's just practice.

I wasn't going to post another thread about how insanely inaccurate the sniper rifles are.

So I am going to ask this question on what I did wrong. I just came off of Al Basrah V2, there is one enemy troop alone on top of the tall hotel south-east of mosque. I was positioned in prone under the overhang/roof of the little building under the hotel, covering the ladder. I was forward just enough to barely see the top of the hotel for when he peeks over.

I lay there with my scope up, and not moving, and I was there for more than 5 minutes, well past any settling time. Only moving slightly along the top of the hotel.

Eventually he got impatient and started looking over the side, I had his whole upper torso exposed, put the cross hairs on him, fired, missed.

This happened about 5 times.

He took two shots at me, and killed me, hit me with each.

I had the scoped Enfield.
Its simple the deviation on the sniper rifles atm is weird

right its only training.

But the insurgent sniper is really hard to use.

But if you know how it works, its great fun!

Yesterday on Fools Road i had a perfect round again.

12 kills, 0 death, a bit over 1200 points...

Wasted 1 Shoot, the rest was one shot one kill.

Distance 550 m. Aiming direkt on the head.

Its not bucked or so, its great to handle if you use it like a Sniper rifle has to be used.

Its not BF 2 :-)

Yeah... it looks really really bad.

@ Baal - you need to edit the PR shortcut. Mine reads like this:

"C:\ALL GAMES\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

So yours will be something like "C:\Program Files\EA Games\...... but with +szx 1280 and +szy 800

Edit: Just done some more testing. It is accurate but I struggled with it beyond 300 metres mainly because of the scope. At >150 metres it doesn't kill tho. Only wounds the target. So - we are hitting them.. just not killing them :)

So the earlier post explaining the 7.62 x 39 mm thing is right after all. If it's made to resemble the original .303 round (or 7.62 x 51mm) in .85 we'll have much more fun :)
