Here are my ideas for tanks.

Main Battle Tanks

T-90S MBT
The Middle-East Coalition will have only procured a small quantity of T-90S tanks. The T-90s would be assigned to elite armor divisons (We can be creative with MEC unit structure) to match the range and firepower of the Abrams and Challenger tanks.

PT-91Z
This is somewhat of an upgrade to the T-72 model. Its produced and avaible for export from the Polish. Perhaps in the MEC's early development, the Europeans unaware of the MEC's future intentions decides to sell some of their equipment. Some references to the PT-91 below.

T-72M1 MBT
Although pratically obsolete, its been exported to several middle-east nations in the past. The MEC could hold a large quantity of T-72 tanks. However, the MEC also could upgrade their fleet of T-72 tanks as well. Starting off with the T-72M1 Upgrade offered by Russia, and perhaps purchasing or researching further upgrades as well.

I think because Russia is so poor, they should export there modern tanks in huge quantitys to try and make a bit of cash. (Could also be a reason to include Russia)

"to match the range and firepower of the Abrams and Challenger tanks."
But not the protection. Hopefully there will be a differential in the case of the Challenger 2, Abrams and T-90.

Has anyone else noticed that all Russian tanks resemble there predicessors?

They have a similar looks within some series, but T-72 and T-80 was quite different from the previous T-60s series. And the T-94 was very radical in my oppinion compared to typical MBT.

The thing about russian tanks though is that in the time span of T-72 up till now, the americans had M1 only.

Yea, yet the Abrams is far from a super tank.

I think this Black Eagle tank (is it?) should be looked at.

Renember that there is not a story for BF2; It could be that russia sold all of this to the MEC in the interests of Russia (re-assume Soviet stance).

The possabilitys are endless.

I think you are overlooking the obvious choice for a realistic and somewhat organized counterpart, for european and US forces to fight. Why not change MEC into what they ought to have been from the start on: Iran!

The story pretty much gives itself as to why the US with possible help from European and (maybe) Israeli forces would go to war with Iran. In fact there are multiple possibilities for a conflict arising: Iran meddling in Iraqi affairs, or the worlds patience finally slipping up with Irans nuclear ambitions.

Also, having Chinese fighting US seems kind of unrealistic to me, although Taiwan declaring independence could be a likely scenario. It's far more realistic having US fight North Korea, but thats a story for another Thread.

The Iran take on MEC would keep the maps pretty middle eastern, and the hardware pretty russian.

Well in the next 5-10 years there is going to be a huge fule shortage and when negotiations break down (Some companys/countrys dont get as much) force will be the next option.

The MEC and China could be defending there homeland and fighting for fair trade of their oil and the US and UK could be the bad guys in a sence, trying to feed there countrys.
