I think this is over complicating it all, forget scales, forget exploits...its just not gonna happen.

BUT! there is an alternative. (I think)

Now, when you've been running ingame, when you get to around 15% or so atm you can't immediately run again.

1) Increase total stamina
2) Increase the zone at which you can't run until recharged.

There, done, you have the 'exhaustion zone' and the normal running zone.

You COULD use the exhaustion zone sprint to get from A->B, but if you did you'd be kinda screwed if fired upon, so we can treat this as you're energy reserve.

Thats what I'd do anyway, if its possible.

Yeah some input from the advisors would be nice, personally I think the bigger bar with a bigger red zone seems reasonable to me though - obviously the kit probably makes it a liiittle bit more enduring to sprint - any added effects as the bar depletes would be cool though if you ask me. Just a heavy breathing sound and a slight hint of blood shot eyes would be good when you get really far down the bar.

It is a pretty slow jog yeah, but take into account that your jogging all bloody round and it seems justified to me, it's about endurance as much as anything else. A soldier could probably jog faster if it was gonna be for 5 minutes, but not for 120.

Use your sprint less often ;)

AFAIK, it was already suggested 8)

I mean, he can keep running as long as I shoot at him?
Correct, Sir :D

...and even better, you can shoot under your own feet to constantly refill sprint bar

If you connect the level of your stamina to the amount of shot deviation then you will have perfect relationship. Shot placement will now be a combo of Stance + Aiming/Hip + Stillness + Stamina. I realize this goes off tangent from the OP, but I think stamina should be used in this way first, then look at adding "adrenaline" like effects.

I agree. I know a Marine friend of mine and he says the sprint in the mod is not realistic at all. These young men are in the best shape of their lives and getting shot at. YOU would definitely run a whole lot faster if you're getting shot at at!

I've recruited about 10 players over the past week. Two of them who served in the military agree that it's too slow. Today's warfare is about speed. If you moved that slow in real life you would be dead. Saving your sprint isn't the answer either, especially when the normal movement is equivalent to walking. Those two felt if the infantry movement was faster and refined than they could give their "SEAL" of approval.

In my opinion the speed isn't the problem it's the length of time your able to sprint. Also when under fire you'd be surprised how fast you find some more stamina. Another thing that hasn't been mentioned as far as I can see is, do you think you could sight in your rifle and be accurate after sprinting for an extended period? You'd have to settle down, control your breathing and try to hold your aim steady. Not so automatic. So how real can this sprint scenario be with the BF2 engine limitations? It's pretty good now I just think it needs to be a bit longer. The longer you sprint the longer it takes to recoup.

Whats in bold pretty much sums it up to me. Maybe a tad faster and a slight shadereffect on low stamina, but hey lets wait n se whats up in .85 shall we?

Judging from the LMG video, the sprint has already been increased for 0.85. Wait and see, I'd say.
