Kashan 16 (Epic CQC situations in the bunkers)
Archer (Good ambushes)

-

Kashan 32, 64 (C'mon, it's an armore whore map)
OGT (I shit my pants when I am on a covert mission, lulz)
All ,god damn, maps with tanks.

Hmmm, you know, could we provide some "constructive reasoning" on maps we dont like? Like, "Im not a big armor fan" or "Doesnt run well on my PC" or whatever. I mean, its fine to not like a map, completely. But it'd just be nice and remove some of the "It f***ing sucks" image from seeing three maps listed with no explanation

Not to mention, we wont know what to try and work on in the future if you never say
If a thread like this is opened, it just has to lead towards a flame war jihad between the haters of different maps.

Therefore I declare in the name of the extreme coolness and unfailableness of me myself and I that the following maps are approved for greatness:

Mestia
Korengal
Basra*

The following maps cause panic reaction of quick smahs of the escape key opon seeing the load screen.

Kashan (Dont like tanks)
Kufra (Dont like tanks)
Ghost Train (dont like bamboo)
Barracuda(dont like bamboo)
TAd Sae(dont like bamboo)

* Any diss of basra will require me to take action***.

Love:
Kashan. A proper round played with a team with any organization (TeeGee) is one of the best experiences in the game. It emphasizes everything that PR and modern warfare is about, Combined Arms Forces.
Qwai. An interesting map, one of the first in PR to introduce the concept of Asymmetrical Balance for two different factions with two very different ideas on warfare, the Chinese thunder, and the Americans outmaneuver. Its not like most every other "equal" map.
Insurgency maps. I can't separate them, and besides a few gripes I have with the gamemode (don't claim they are different and then move them towards conventional forces, firebases and all) they all offer really fun urban/mountain combat.

Hate (and I do mean hate)
Tad Sae/Bi Ming. There are only cosmetic differences on this map and its runty sibling. They don't leave much room to stretch ones legs and maneuver, and don't provide any unique scenery that we haven't seen in vBF2 maps. I could confuse either of them for Daqing Oilfields. As a side note, Bi Ming v1 was an interesting and unique concept, I liked the night map concept.

Sunset City. Far flung from the exiting urban/mountain combat that is Insurgency, Sunset is a leftover from older versions that was designed as a map somewhat like Qwai in terms of assets, and without those assets, you just have a really empty city.

OGT. Mostly because I hate bamboo.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.

The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.

Like:

Fools Road - Its just epic.

Qwai River - Even more epic. Love the gameplay and assets, strong but "slow" PLA team vs a weaker but much more mobile US team. Perfectly balanced aswell.

Barracuda - Just brilliant. A really beautiful map, lovely gameplay.

Dont like:

Korengal - Lagspikes and the gameplay isnt that good imo. The map is small, but its obstructed as hell so you have to walk around for ever when IRL you could have climbed over the hills. Caves are deathtraps and if you get hurt when walking down the mountains (wich you will) you will hurt your foot and slowly bleed to death.

Ramiel - Pretty alright map with decent gameplay, but unfortunately some areas of that map are unplayable due to insane lagspikes. Not quite as bad as Korengal, but really annoying to get shot because your fps drops to <10.

Road to Kysomething - Used to be alright, but too small for 0.8+ imo.
Never argue with an idiot, he will just drag you down to his level and beat you by experience ;)

Like:
1. Muttrah.
- Looks really awesome, and plays really awesome. Lots of enterable buildings means that you don't only have to control the terrain horizontally, but also vertically. Flanking a rooftop position by taking a nearby building with a higher roof feels awesome and is not something you often do in other maps.

2. Fool's Road
- The large scale militia map. More asymmetric than Mestia, due to the vehicles. Varied terrain that looks pretty awesome. Hilltop Estate is a pain to take, but can be equally difficult to defend, making it one of the more interesting places to fight in PR.

3. Ramiel
- Mainly because it's so damn big. Every other city map in PR feels small in comparison. I'm reasonably familiar with every other urban map in PR, to the point where I can navigate them with ease without needing to bring up the map too often. Ramiel feels big enough to get lost in. Might be because I don't get to play it as often, but it's big nevertheless.

Could do without:
1. Op Barracuda
- It really can go either way, depending on how good the US team is. However, in public servers, most of the time the US team ends up getting their *** kicked. This makes the map boring for both the US team and the Chinese team. The US ends up hanging out on the carrier and the Chinese end up falling asleep on their AA launchers and Nanjing 50cals waiting for some chopper to finally try to make it to the island.

2. Jabal
- Most of the fighting on this map takes place around the dam or in the city proper. The rest of the map is fairly barren, and doesn't really make for good infantry combat. The map does feature APCs, but it isn't armor-centric, so it's not really all that fun for most of the team, on either side.

3. Qwai River
- Listing two was hard enough, but I couldn't come up with a reasonable third. It seems like I'm playing Qwai all the time lately, so I guess I can put that down, being a bit tired of the map by now.

Had a similar situation, and it left good, madness good

So i can't:

Kashan - But can be troubling at times when no teamwork is at hand
Fools Road - Gives me a fine feeling
Korengal - Kill the infadels

can:

Quai River - Gets quite boring...
Qinling - The setup doesent look good kinda
Sunset City - *think im gona hurl* oh look my lunch *maybe i can eat it again* wonder how itll taste

Like:
Qinling - perfect armor and infantry map, has nice balance, too

Kashan - less favorable, only for AA whoring mostly

Muttrah - urban combat winz, too bad I can't play it anymore without getting serious lag

Dislike:
-all Insurgency maps more or less
-all seeder maps; Kufrah, Kyongan Ni, especially Sunset City...
-Ejod Desert

Can't

Operation Ghost Train: Probably the best infantry map in pr, maybe ever, mainly because infantry can hide in a way that simply isn't possible in other maps.

Korengal: Mainly because help is normally so far away it comes down to the squad members strengths i.e. a good squad leader will save your life on this map. Also feels much bigger than it actually is and because the cover allows insurgents a much better playing field.

Mestia: Plays great and the large cap zones have turned out brilliant imo. The only map you can have a quick game of pr on. Most other maps you need to have at least an hour to spare in order to play them though.

Can

Kashan: To many vehicles and to much long rang fighting. Seems to bring out the argumentative noob in everybody.

Qinling: Kashan but with trees and different army’s.

Al Kufrah: Featureless map that always involves some sort of base/spawn rape as standard.

Barra is iffy for me as well, while it is a great looking map and makes for some great infantry fighting, being that reliant on pilots and the constant ‘run them over‘ tactics of the Chinese wreck it for me. Give the US boats…go on…you know you want to. Also a great shame to see a static as cool as the silo go largely to waste as its never really properly fought over.
Lots of love

Can't:
Ramiel - The feel, the cover, the thrill of being an infantryman and advancing with your squad up the streets without any real support nearby, surrounded by insurgents.

Qwai - Just allows awesome tactical expression as an SL, and not too big to pull back when you realise it's all gone to pot. Assaults on Government Office are an organisational dream.

Korengal - Just look at it. Is this still the BF2 engine? It's not about map size in my books, it's about detail. Insurgency mode means you're fighting over the most random bits of [in this maps' case beautifully crafted] land - the firefights are often long due to an inability to get where the aggressors are, you can't charge em if they're up that hill / across a tiny valley / in a cave / across an open field etc.

Can:
Kashan - The elements of PR come together nicely, but the desert environment doesn't do it for me.

Jabel - there's something about sitting on your own up a hill with a HAT downing APCs in the water that is incredibly game-y. Not enough variation, the gameplay is too linear for me.

Basrah - it's great, but I'd prefer similar assets on a map like Archer or Ramiel. It's too "Sort of a city, sort of a village with fields, Sort of open ground" without being much good at any of them due to the lack of actual fighting space. Not that it's a bad map, I do enjoy it.

No! Don't fall for it!

Don't tell them what maps you love, they'll just take them away!

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Kashan has to be there. It can be boring, but it is all PR is about and awesome with okay PR players. Id like to see more full loadout maps with different themes. How about doing a jungle map with light vegetation like Barracuda, make it mainland with a shore instead like Ejod and the full loadout, tanks attack helicopters aircraft, just not as many tanks and helicopters like in Kashan to have one more inf squad.

Can live without: Anything infantry. (Nothing personal on the maps, all the maps are very nice)

Do like: Anything with a good amount of vehicles, Muttrah/qinling high on the list.
