If the attack choppers could gain speed without losing so much altitude maybe it would work better

EDIT, blue sky require lighter terrain?

That much cloud cover is a little... odd... but I like the blue sky, makes the place look warmer. :)

Hellfire range > tank range

Helicopter radar > tank

However in PR:

Tank zoom > Helicopter zoom

Tank range > helicopter range

Tank = fire and forget > helicopter = incredibly nerfed no stabilization/fire and forget gunning system.

Not right.

There is a reason attack helicopters exist as primary armour killers, and AAVs exist as anti air.

However much a tank can kill a helicopter, in game the balance is no where near real life.

So give the helos radar, I've been a major supporter of giving the air some more toys, but don't say Tanks have no business taking on air.

Is tanks shooting down helos a real problem in PR? Haven't seen tank taking down an attack helo, ever. Transport helos yes, but only with mg or when they're hovering stationary/landed with main cannon.

Good question. It happens on every kashan round more then one time.

And i dont say that tanks aren´t able to shoot down a chopper.

But its called Project REALITY.

And in reality the longbow (its this model) kills your tank when he is over 8 km away and that because he got you on his radar for more then 1 min.

And he then can launch a Hellfire 2 (Radar Guided) and so he is on his way home when you got hit.

And PR at the moment is so far away from what a Ah 64 or other chopper can do that i myself think there is some tweaking needed.

Think we have to make it easier to search and aim for targets.

I always wanted Kashan to look like this:
ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

This is with standard 1000m view distance. It would of course require new lightmaps due to the sun being in a different position than in current version.

I'm actually a much larger fan of trying a night version of Kashan, and so long as we still have cloud cover, even if it's higher up, the blue sky would be cool.

The sky is beautifull, but needs a little clouds and a bigger view distance

Can u set the view distance to 2000 and add a little clouds to see how it looks ?

Try using Ejods skybox like in the first screenshot. It has clouds.

Kashan Desert with a blue sky? My, my...

I don't comment often in different threads, but it'll tell you something. It looks absolutely gorgeous. This post is definately a winner. Simple, effective, brilliant.

Suprised Kashan Desert wasn't done like this the first time. I always wondered, but it never came to mind to mention it. Glad you brought it up Feuerwaffen.

Now, with that said. Kashan should have always looked like this. The whole "tan sky" thing was most likely accepted with the thought of a dust storm in mind for environmental effects. As for Helicopters and Jet Aircraft... Some people may debate that the current tan sky hides aircraft in the clouds better. But as far as I'm concerned, that's simply an excuse to be lazy.

If you're a good pilot, you already understand the importance of hit and run tactics. Realistically speaking, aircraft in todays modern engagement will almost never BF2 kill sponge an area.

If you know how to be a true pilot, then a change from a tan sky to a blue sky will do little to nothing to effect you.

It's all about having self-control and waiting for a moment of opportunity, then proceeding to move in for the kill, you then deliver your ordnance, then get the hell out of dodge. Because news travels fast when enemy aircraft is in the air. You wanna hang around? Fine and dandy. Make yourself an easy target for Anti-Air equipment.

Simply put, all aircraft are paper tigers. They have massively devastating weapons aboard, however they are very tempermental to damage. They must be used selectively and sparingly.

That's a problem with the chopper, not the tank and therefore no nerfing of the tank should occur, but buffing of the chopper. That and idiots who decide they want to play close air support for infantry by the bunkers or hovering really slowly high up. Part of the reason tanks take down attack helicopters so easily in PR is because the Attack Helos don't use real life tactics of hiding behind terrain and only showing themselves to fire, which in the case of the hellfire is not even necessary.

I will have to disagree... Why is the sky blue IRL...? That doesnt make any sense. The sky should be red, it will add to gameness and feel of surrealism.
