Good luck ;)
Kinda...

1. Find a squad called BANANAVOIP or EPICWIN, squads like this are usually a lot of fun. :D

2. Check what kits are needed in the squad before spawning in. If a medic is not needed, choose something that is. Ask the SL what he requires. A lot of people think that making the 'new guy' the squads medic is the right idea but it clearly isn't. Medic was good for n00bs on vBF2 that want to pwn everyone but it isn't as simple in PR.

3. Don't follow your squad leader too closely or 1 nade will kill the pair of you. Sometimes it's best to take point ahead of your squad leader if you're a rifleman and you have a clear objective to move towards.

4. Yeah, don't die too much. As the spawn times differ quite a lot to vBF2, taking care of yourself is more important. Also, the more you die, the longer your spawns become. Have fun. :)

To get the hang of PR, load an Ins map and play as US.

It will give you a very good feel for the mechnics of the game, and a feel for the handling of weapons at range without any real risk of injury or people raging at you for not completing objectives. You will not have to face armour or air assets, nor deal with real combined arms operations (excepting Basrah). Moving and responsive targets are plentiful, and teamplay is very, very highly encouraged.

Insy is funmode. Insy is trainingmode. Insy is the place to be.

Sn4tch! Welcome to the community. You will find that PR is what you always wanted BF2 to be. PR goes a long way toward reducing the effectiveness of lonewolf Rambos and severly punishes general smacktard behaviour with its gameplay mechanics and point system. The general level of gameplay is much higher than BF2 and you will find that PR is alot more fun.

There is a pretty steep learning curve. Going from 'vanilla' BF2 to PR is like going from JV basketball to NCAAs. You will have to relearn many things. Laugh at your mistakes and stay with it.

I see that your ingame alias is also Sn4tch. Hope to see you out there. I usually play Euro servers due to ping. The US has great servers too.
